It's Just a great case. And you can't really improve on something that doesn't need Improvement. Keep all these new cases. I've always relied on Fender cases to protect my Basses and they've always come through. Thank you for such a great product and keep up the excellent work!
The SKB has housed my Brawley 6 string (my working bass) for a little more than two years and was starting to fall apart. The latches and the aluminum hinge that goes around the case were starting to miss-alignment. And the cover restraints were just glued in and had "given way" a year ago. The restraints keep the top from going to far back and putting to much pressure on the hinge. This I believe contributed to the miss-alignment of the hinge. I had my '66 Precision out at the same time as the Brawley and tried the Brawley in the old Fender case. A perfect fit. The old case though majorily thrashed on the outside is still solid as a rock in protecting the Fender. So, the next time I was in Guitar Center I had them order me a Fender Hard shell case. It came three days later. Perfect condition. I also no longer have to take the strap off the Brawley as the new case has a tad more room, but has enough padding that the bass doesn't move around at all. I like it. If you're planning on keeping the instrument then spend the $$ to protect it in the long term.
I long needed a new case for my mid 70s P Bass. This case is beautiful, and my beat up old bass looks at home in it. Shipped fast too.
