  I bought the blue one, and I have played it for two days now -- an hour or two at low volumes, and another 3-4 hours at high volume. This guitar ROCKS. The short scale neck doesn't bother me, in fact it is surprisingly comfortable. And it gives the strings a certain snappiness that I really like. The pickups are high output, and quite rich. I am playing with some high gain on a 30w class "A" tube amp. Sounds great. Thick and bright at the same time. The fit and finish are superb (Fender Japan) and the feel of this guitar is excellent. The switches offer you the choice of splitting the humbuckers to either one of the single coils, or running them as 'buckers. Very nice. I am using them as humbuckers and getting a phenomenal sound. Very Fender-y considering they ain't single coils. Cool. It's worth mentioning that this is a very lightweight guitar (maybe 6 punds, if that) but it has a full, rich sound. The best part is the neck. It feels great, and the construction is top-notch. All-in-all this guitar is a 10-out-of-10 and just might surprise you with it's unique appeal. I was looking for something different and this is it.

  I ordered this guitar on a whim without playing it, intending to return it to GC, if I did not like it. Wow! I am so happy I bought this guitar! After struggling for over a year trying to find a guitar that felt "right" this one just fell into my lap. The action is low and loose. The strings it came with felt like noodles! I put new ernie ball regular slinky strings on it, and the action is still low and loose, but not as bendy as the factory strings. After setting up the guitar to my own specifications (which was little to-no effort) playing it is a proverbial "piece of cake." The Enforcer Humbuckers are probably the raddest pickups I've ever had the chance to play with. They offer quality AND quantity with these pickups. There are a total of 18 different tonal varieties that range from low and muddy, to hot and twangy. This guitar would be well suited to someone with small hands/skinny fingers. The short-scale is a dream! After YEARS of struggling to play barre chords below "G" I can finally play ALL barred-positions easily! The Mustang Special helped me find my confidence as a guitarist again, and I will never part with this guitar. This is the best guitar I've ever owned, and will buy another one as a backup.

  Bought this guitar after seeing it in an advertisement and falling in love instantaneously, I bought it, took it out of the amazingly well made premium fender gigbag. Noticed it is the lightest guitar I've ever played and I really like how light it is. It can be a bit disorienting, but you get used to it after a while. Playability is different in that it is short-scale, I personally love short-scale because of the quicker mobility. The neck feels fantastic, I'd say the "C" shape is also something to get used to, although I have no problems. My all time favorite thing about the guitar though are the pickups. Oh my, those pickups. As someone who has only been experimenting with pickup variations for about a year now, I LOOOOOOoooOOOOooove the pickups. You have such a wide range to work with and no matter where they are you are guaranteed to find a unique but quality sounding tone. In summarization, this guitar is fantastic looking, fantastic playing, and fantastic sounding. It is a bit of an "odd" guitar, but that just makes it better for me personally, so Five/Five from me.
