decent tuner but.......

2006 - I have had this tuner for about a year. As far as the job it does as a tuner, it works great. Perfect tuning as far as my ears can tell and the meter doesn't jump around like many other tuners I have had. Fairly bright display that can be easily seen. That's the good news. Now the bad. My complaint is one of harware. The pedal body is made of nice strong aluminum and is really solid. The pedal portion that you step on is cheap plastic and mine pops out of the pedal almost evertime I step on it. I have relagated this pedal for home use only. On stage use is not practical. You will spend time bent over putting the plastic pedal piece back into the pedal block amost everytime you use it.

Decent Pedal Tuner

After owning tuners by other brands; such as Planet Waves, Korg, and Seiko; I picked up a Fender PT-100 Pedal Tuner to use with my new bass. Upon first glance, it seems quite rugged with a nice wide footprint. Looking closer, its casing is made out of rugged plastic. Although it's built well, plastic is no substitute for metal. Additionally, the battery compartment is slow-access, and allows the battery to rattle around inside. In use, this tuner is very accurate and visible, and the option of being either mute or live while tuning is quite useful. Although this tuner pedal is much better and more durable than the Boss TU-2, the Planet Waves CT04 is a far superior choice for a pedal tuner. Budget-wise, however, the Fender PT-100 is fine; and I would still recommend it.

Perfectly priced tuner

This tuner is great for anyone who wants a pedal tuner for gigs and practices, but can't afford the boss tuner pedal. This one works just as well and is priced perfectly. The display is nice and bright for you to read when your in the dark or don't have sufficient light. I would reccomend this to anyone on a tight budget.

excellent pedal tuner

i've been using this pedal for 10+ live shows already and it works like a charm. has a second jack on the right so you can mute your guitar's signal when you press it down. very discrete feature, which is necessary live. compared to the Boss TU-2, I think this is MUCH easier to use. Although it's slightly more work to get the battery out (you can even use a pick as a flathead screwdriver) and it's not constructed quite as well as the Boss, it performs much better. I only had to retighten the jacks once, but I think it's because they have rubber o-rings. It also has a great LED display with 2 colors, yes ONLY 2. Anymore colors than that, and you're just confusing people (i.e. Boss TU-2) Blue, you aren't in tune, Red you are and its simple and easy to use. It's also very accurate and it isn't trying to get you're tuning down to the very minute twist of a peg. A great buy at $40 too I might add, plus they've added new colors to choose from. Why not make it fun, after all, it is just a tuner, but make it individual, so nice job Fender as usual.

Excellant Live

The key to this tuner is that it adds no noise to your system and does not pop through the PA when you use the mute feature. It also is a good point to change your guitar without noise during a show when the unit is muted. The LED's don't bouce around much, so it is easy to tune live. The unit is heave enough to stay put during live shows.
