I Can't Put It Down!

This is a beautifully crafted instrument. The slim neck is very comfortable to play...FasT... great for smaller hands. I've gone through several bass exchanges and when I picked this one up I knew I had found "Mine!". The unique active/passive pickup design gives this bass a very unique sound. It's great and unique in either mode. It even sounds awesome when it's not plugged in! The active setting is super ballsy but not muddy at all and there is very little buzz on the low string (as is a frequent problem with other 5 strings). You can play super fast, staccato, and it's clear in all settings. The workmanship that went into this bass is really remarkable. The beauty will strike you immediately and will continue to grow on you. I find myself admiring each unique line of the wood; the warmth and subtle changes in the natural aged finish; really awesome... I've never had an instrument that inspired me to play it so much. I find myself not wanting to put it down and running back to pick it up. It's so much fun to play this bass... minutes drift into hours.

Fender Marcus Miller Jazz V

I have always heard that the Marcus Miller Jazz V is the best "bang for the buck" that you can get from Fender. I now know what they mean. The bass is put together extraordinarily well. It is comfortable and fast to play. Nice to slap with too. It has an old school vibe to the sound which took me awhile to get use to but that I now really enjoy. The preamp is not overwhelming. It rather adds to the passive sound and bends it gradually. A definite keeper
