Excellent Bass
I purchased this bass at the Guitar Center-and although not the most expensive, it was the best looking and sounding bass on the shelf. Superior looks and superior tone. I compared the quality of this bass and the American Fenders side by side, and sound-wise, and the Marcus Miller was superior in every respect. Great tone-either for the traditional J-bass sound, or for slapping. I don't do much of the latter but wanted a bass that sounded good for all styles, and this is it. Again, a great looking and sounding bass. The only advice I would offer is that the preamp is pretty hot and somewhat trebly (at least through our house system) and you may need to crank down the treble/EQ to avoid fret noise.

AMAZING!
Wow. I spent 5 hours looking for the perfect bass, and when I picked up the Marcus Miller Bass I fell in love. It has an amazing range to play all types of styles. Active/passive controlls which not a lot of bass' have, and a BADASS II BRIDGE. I 100% recomend this bass to anybody.

Good?
Hell yeah, its absolutely fantastic. When I first plugged this bass in, the sound blew me away. The pickups are profound-producing deep, full lows, and wonderful highs. Flip on the active switch, and things get even better from there. It sucks that the price of this bass rose 100 dollars (used to be 899), but it is def worth saving up the extra C note. A beauty.

Sweet Jazz Bass
I wasn't really searching for a bass until I came across this beauty. I first fell in love with the looks and then the sound. This bass really covers it all from that old Paul McCartney nice low punch to the famous Jaco Pastorius sound. I was looking for both and wasn't able to have 'em in the same package. Don't have the nicest set up amp wise just an old Fender, but I got a Line 6 Riff Tracker Guitar Port that has enable me to get any sound and I mean any. I would definently recommend this bass to anyone who only has a year under their belt to someone who's pro and touring.

Nice Bass
Just an all around good bass. I wanted to pick up a jazz bass to add to my guitarsenal, and this was one of two that I bought. I removed the thumb rest, since it prevented me from muting the strings when I slap, but other than that, I love everything about it. It can sound snappy, Fat, smooth, and everything in between. At least play it if you get a chance, its a very good bass
