Fender Kingman Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar (105622666)
Availability:

A great-sounding acoustic bass that plays as easily as your solid-body electric bass does!

From deep within the cavernous and labyrinthine Research and Development Department down at Fender headquarters, they come up with this totally new take on the acoustic bass guitar—designed for the discerning bassist, yet friendly to guitarists, too. From its Jazz Bass guitar headstock, neck shape, strap button, and machine heads, it feels like home to the electric bassist, but it embodies all the deep and rich tones acoustic players look for. With a solid spruce top, traditional bridge, gold pickguard, and lusciously bound fingerboard with eye-catching block position inlays, this bass is destined to make groundbreaking music!

The Onboard Fishman Aero Active Preamp transfers the natural acoustic bass tone of the Kingman and features the Fishman Sonicore pickup; integrated electronic tuner with LED display; and On/Off switch, volume, bass, mid, treble, phase switch, and low battery indicator light. Operates on a standard 9-volt battery.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

  • Take anywhere

As reviewed by Andy Uphoff on 7/26/2011

This bass is great for practice because it can be taken anywhere to just pick up and play. How many rimes have you had only a few minutes and wanted to grab your axe, but don't have the time to hook up and turn on the amp? Or, what if your inspiration comes at five in the morning. The answer is an acoustic that plays and sound like your electric and this one does. The action on the frets are just a little harder than a good electric, but I use it to keep my "chops" up. Good sound acoustically and ok electricly. Once you get use to the heaviness of the neck it plays easy. It feels a lot like my j-bass for the left hand. I have tried other types of acoustics and especially for the price I think you will like the Kingman Acoustic

  • Wires and Buzz

As reviewed by Michael S on 10/12/2011

Other than the internal wires laying on the inside of the body causing most of the buzzing/rattling problem, there is the problem with the battery holder that adds buzz as well. Fixing is not a problem though. Next, on the hinge of the battery box try using some rubber washers to give it a tighter fit. Now, playability ... after lowering the action and changing the strings To Tomastik Bronze Wound Nylon Acoustic Strings, this puppy plays awesome. AND! One can achieve that great "Paul McCartney" sound amplified or not! I find myself playing this bass more often than my others (and my drumset). Word to anyone thinking of purchasing ... get the bass case that is made for it. I did and it fits perfectly!

  • "Buzz..."

As reviewed by Kevin on 6/9/2011

In making a choice to play electric or acoustic bass...this guitar will not fail you in either scenario. One minor flaw, however...keeps me from giving this 5 stars. The unit I bought (new...unused, I might add)...had a vibration in the hinges for the "tuner-preamp" This causes a "buzzing" sound...during playing. I solved this with a few minor "mods" of my own. This guitar plays wonderfully. Sraight from China...it is good to go. Change the strings to meet your personal needs. But, give the factory installed strings a chance. Kevin
