  • Jim Root Tele = <3

As reviewed by Zero on 6/6/2009

I've had this guitar now for almost a year, and I'm nothing short but in love with it! This guitar can basically do anything. The neck is perfect for what I do. The schallers work beautifully. The EMGs are very dynamic with their tone. The EMGs really get a VERY metal tone. Pinch harmonics are a synch on this beauty as well. This guitar is definitely worth every penny! It looks amazing, it sounds amazing, and feels amazing!. My only gripe with it is the paint job. The paint is worn fairly easily, but thats nothing a little touch up cant cure. And im not talking fading. Im talking more of like little tiny blemishes that are hard to notice, and only people who are very picky would catch onto. Otherwise this guitar is phenomenal. A telecaster with an Ebony Fretboard, EMGs, and schaller locking tuners?! Its a steal! The case is nice too. =]

  • This is my holy grail guitar...

As reviewed by J-DUB on 1/5/2010

First off let it be known that the Jim Root Signature Series Telecaster is a player and not a show piece. THE GOOD: The electronics are perfect. I wouldn't choose any other pickup configuration. The 81/60 combo is the tried and true metal/hardcore combination and allows for a wide range of tonal possibilities. The hardware is great and the Fender locking tuners rival the Sperzels on my ESP's. The string through body bridge allows for maximum sustain. The placement of the battery cavity in the back of the guitar is genius. THE BAD: I don't think it is a bad thing but if you like the showroom look to your guitars then you will hate the finish on here. It is cheap and thinly applied and the result is you are left with a tele-relic look in no time. I actually like that. I hate pretty guitars. The only thing I would change is the placement of the volume knob. Like a standard strat it is a little too close for my taste. Bottom line: you cannot find a better telecaster for heavy music in ANY price range. Bonus: it comes with a wicked black tweed case with crushed red/black velvet inside. Evil. I love it.

  • Best guitar I own

As reviewed by Sherry E on 9/14/2011

First of all, I love this guitar. Jim Root is my biggest influence and I've always loved the tone of his guitar. So when I got enough money to buy this I didn't hesitate. When I got the case I was pleasantly surprised, and when I opened it, it was even better. All in all this guitar is perfect in my opinion. Great sound, very comfortable, it's just great. The only complaint I have is the fact that the case began to turn my guitar pink (luckily I noticed before it was obvious) due to the red fabric inside, so I had to swap cases for it. I'll probably just sell the case despite how nice it looks.
