A Look At Fender's New American Standard Series At 2008 Winter NAMM

Change the look of your J Bass with this cool black pickguard!

The Fender Jazz Bass 3-Ply Pickguard is a 10-hole pickguard similar to the '62 J Bass minus the 4 extra holes for pickup cover, thumb rest, and the 11th mounting screw, above the rhythm pickup. Some pickguards are notched for heel mounted truss rod adjustments.

Fender Jazz Bass 3-Ply Pickguard Features:

  • Fits:
  • '62 American Vintage, American Series, and American Standard Jazz Basses (USA)
  • Standard and Deluxe Series Jazz Basses (Mexico)
  • Will not fit 5-String Jazz Basses

great upgrade!

I have a new American Jazz Bass that had a parchment guard when I bought it. I thought the black would look really good against the sunburst finish and I was right. The fit was perfect, all the holes matched, which hasn't been the case for me with other after market parts. Good old genuine Fender does the trick, though. All in all I'm very satisfied.
