Eye-catching vintage style with a technological twist!

The Jaguar Bass has added a new level of cool to the world of electric bass since its introduction in 2006. Though it's based on the design one of the most popular guitars from the early 60's, don't let the Jaguar's retro look fool you—this bass is chock full of modern features. With the goal of total tonal control, the Jaguar bass gives you the ability to switch pickups on and off, from series to parallel, and from active to passive. This provides you with a tonal palette that works for all types of players, form the set-and-forget player to the eternal-tone-adjustor. Stylistically, it has a thin, fast, one-piece C-shaped maple neck that has a warm tint with a rosewood fingerboard, complete with aged white pearloid block position markers.

To put it very short and sweet, This bass is amazing. I own 2 other american made fender basses, and I have played a wide variety of misc basses, this bass is hands down the best sounding bass I have ever played. Simply amazing...

NEW REVIEW - Fender, you need to fix this!

I tried a Jaguar Bass off the rack at GC, and was impressed by the features, finish, etc. Once I got it home and played it a short while, it was a different story. When playing in active mode, I could hear a loud buzz, like a 60-cycle hum, when the treble was turned up even a little. When I touched the strings or a metal part of the bass, the hum decreased or stopped. What was troubling is that when I held the bass and touched a ground on my surge protector, it stopped humming then, also, even when I wasn't touching a metal part of the bass. That tells me it has a serious grounding problem, and was apparently grounding itself on me! Back at the GC, the experts confirmed it seemed like a grounding problem, and looked inside it to find the reason, but couldn't identify the source. I ordered a new one, and when it arrived, it was the same story - loud hum in active mode that started after playing just a couple of songs. Fender needs to look into this ASAP! Earlier reviews indicate this happened on Jags bought in 2007 and 2009. On the plus side, Rick and Ron at Nashville GC went the extra mile to try to help find the problem. I traded the Jag in for a 70s Jazz Bass reissue, and now I'm happy again.

The Fender Jaguar

This is perhaps the best bass I've ever played! Its features, once mastered, allow you to do almost anything with your bass that you want to. As soon as I took this bass out of its hard case, I fell in love with its jet black color and chrome. From the moment I plugged it in, I was in heaven. The sound that this bass produces is nothing short of astounding. Its presence is just so powerful. One thing that is very cool about it is the fact that it has pick-up selectors- UNHEARD OF on other basses. You can choose the "Neck Pick-up" the "Bridge Pick-up" or the "Series Switch". You can do interesting combinations with the three of these to play around with your sound. AMAZING! On top of the standard volume and tone knobs, you get a pre-amp... INSIDE THE BASS! You can adjust it to have a heavy bottom end or a light high end. You can even set it in the middle for a distinct "growl" that is very strong. And if you don't want to use this feature, you can simply flick the switch to turn it off. One of its kind, for sure. I recommend this to all bass players of all types of music. You will NOT be dissapointed... I know I'm not!

Of course.. it's a Fender

Just look at the thing! But wait until you hear her voice.. it is absolutely beautiful. I still haven't figured out all the tones I can pull out of this baby. She just looks so killer.. harmonics sound especially pretty, if any of you are into Jaco Pastorius.. but really, she's for anything. THe Fender Jaguar Bass kills. what a smooth body :)

MY Favorite Bass

I had a fender presicion and really enjoyed playing it.But, i was lookin for a more mellow sound so I went to guitar center to get a hollow body. BUt, like any bass entusiast would, I played many other basses in the store for fun. I immediatly fell in love with this bass. THe dude behind the counter was watchin me play it untill he said, " yeah, that's your bass" I love this bass so much I haven't found one that i'm more happy with. I use D'addario flat wounds to accent the mellow sound. THis is the best bass I have ever played
