Great tone from a great little amp!
I have to say, this little amp rocks! It has such a nice tone, both clean and slightly overdriven. It is also really cool how it respond to the subtleties of your playing. For example, the lighter you play and strum the strings, the lower the amp will be, with a cool clean sound. This amp is very cool in the sense that it is very basic in what it offers, (with just standard spring reverb, and volume EQ knobs, and don't forget the FAT switch!)which is what I like, and it gives it that vintage feel, just a no nonsense rockin' amp! I am very pleased with the great bluesy, jazzy clean, and rock tones this bad boy dishes out. Long story short, it is a great value, and a great sounding little amp. Buy one now, you won't be disappointed!

AWESOME PURCHASE!!
Awesome amp!! Let me tell you that it is small but dont let that fool you. This thing pumps out better tones than the Hot Rod Deluxe. It has a great tone that comes out of those warm tubes. I would say it could use a foot switch for the fat switch but thats about the only con. If you got the cash, buy it today.

A Tone Monster - Amazing!
I bought a Fender Blues Jr, black, that was returned by someone else so it was discounted down at the Guitar Center in Raleigh NC. It is straight up easy to use. bass, mid, treble, level, master, reverb, a fat switch (which I leave on - allows me to turn the bass down a tad), and an off-on switch. It is plug and play. I don't need pedals most of the time, but I like them for some things just to mix it up a bit. The first thing I did was replace the Groove Tubes (good but not great). I put in a matched pair of Sovtek EL84 for the power tubes and a matched set of Tung-Sol 12ax7 for pre-amp tubes. I also replaced the stock speaker with a Celestion Century speaker. At this time, the amp is a tone monster. I usually have the master at 5 or lower and level at 5 or 6, and the overdrive is tremendous and very reactive as I turn my guitar volume up. If more volume is needed, I mic the little monster into the PA. It is very receptive to pedals: booster (BBE Boosta Grande), overdrive (BBE Green Screamer), analog delay (a pair of MXR Carbon Copies) and wah (modified CryBaby). I play a Gibson CS-336 (#1), a modified Tele (with DiMarzio virtual p-90) and an American Standard Strat with Lindy Fralin Blues Specials. The only setting I change is when I play the Tele, I turn the treble down from 6 to 4 because the Tele is very bright.
All in all, the Fender Blues Jr is an excellent amp. It is so good, I rarely use my Blues Deluxe Reissue (has similar tube and speaker mods).

so-so
I upgraded to this from the pro junior. It is a little 'honky' on tone, but when the mid is scooped all the way out, it sounds great. The reverb tank sounds good, and the control for it is well tapered. The bad news is that it is very noisy. It constantly hisses, spits, and pops. While not noticeable while you are cranking out power chords, for recording, or small gigs, it is unacceptable. In addition to mine doing this, two others I have played on do it also.

Blues Brothers
This amp is very good if you're looking for a less expensive fender tube. Its size is also convenient for carting around a college campus

One of Fender's best amps
I really love these amps. Great sound. Easier to load and unload into gigs than most amps. Work well with single coil and humbuckers. Effect pedals work well with em. Easy to mod/customise your sound with tube/speaker swaps. Surprizingly full and loud amp for it's size. I think most people can easily gig with just one (everything is miked and in the mains nowdays) but having two is better so you get a full "stage-fill" and so can hear yourself when you are dropped in the monitors (which always seems to happen to me) and giging you really need a back up amp anyway. I know a lot of players that are, or have, used these professionally with very good results. The optional Fender pedal switch is nice to have to kick the Fat boost (a 15 decible midrange boost) on or off. The fat boost is very nice for getting a thicker middle out of single coils. Also, these amps are so popular with serious musicians that there are web pages devoted to them and their possible mods, etc. They hold their value very well. A best buy among guitar amps. So, where's the party?

Great Little Amp!
I bought this amp about 5 months ago and i love it. I play in a band and have used this amp during numerous gigs. I mic it of course, but im sure it could handle small gigs with no problem. This amp is very basic, which is what i like about it. The FAT switch is a nice little option on it, it gives you a little more grit. I play a les paul with P90's and it sounds awesome! My band plays mostly classic rock and some alternative music. This amp is perfect for that bluesy eric clapton tone. I also can get a really good Beatles tone out of it to. Overall this is a very good amp, well worth the price paid for it.

Blues Junior
Bought this amp as my first tube amp. Pretty good choice as far as flexabiliy. I later played a Blues Deluxe and found that the Junior wasn't as twangy as I like. If you really crank up the treble and cut out the mid and bass, its not bad. As far as other styles of music, this amp is awesome, it does however pop and crackle and occasionally makes a loud hiss when plugged in to single coils.

Awesome Amp
I picked up the tweed NOS version about a year ago. I have to say, I love this amp. I either play a mexican Strat or Gibson SG through it. This amp puts out an awesome tone once you push the volume past midrange, I don't use any stompboxes. The fat switch is operable through a foot pedal, which is nice, but I've had issues getting the volumes between the two channels equal, to where when I have enough volume on the clean channel, it is way to loud when I switch to the FAT channel...but this is probably just me not being able to get it adjusted correctly. I use this amp to gig small bars and I only have to mic it when we play larger venues. Overall a great amp, I would recommend the NOS version, it has an upgraded speaker and the tweed look is awesome.

Wicked Tube Power
I have owned mine for about 2 years and rate it 5 stars for power, smooth tones and sheer character. Miked and run through a powerful system, this little guy can keep up with the best of them. It is noisy though-pops, hisses and crackles. Some would pay extra for these sounds as it is reminiscent of the early amps of the 50's and 60's. Being relatively lightweight it covers all bases: practice to live performances. Possibly the greatest amp for the money that has even been made.
