I bought this amp this past summer and I couldn't be happier. The reverb is great on this amp. It really adds great depth to the overall sound. I have yet to crank up this 60W mammoth to the max. It is very loud, and the noise complaint I got this quarter at college is proof! If you are gonna be practicing at home you better not crank the volume past 2, this beast goes to 12.
The distortion? I like it but I will be buying a distortion pedal soon, only because I just want to have have a little more crunch. The clean channel is pretty smooth, really seems to glisten. The presence knob on the amp does not really do anything. The two inputs are pretty sick if you are gonna be jamming with one of your buddies. So far so good, if you want an all tube amp with some volume and nice distortion... look no farther.
Purchased it used at GC. I play a cover band - outdoor venues and benefits in large halls. We play some classic rock, some country, some classic metal, blues and some more recent stuff. I'm a Fender guy and this one is a great addition, easy to transport. As clean as the 70's Bassman 410, reverb sounds as good as the Twin RI, and the distortion sounds better than the Fender Distortion pedal through the 60's Super Reverb. Hooked it up to the vintage Bassman (212 Jensen) extension cab and it sounds awesome, big enough for a medium venue with volume on 5, or a large outdoor venue using the preamp line out into the PA. Pleasantly surprised at the price, a great value new or used.
I couldn't be happier. The clean fender sound you want with a gritty distortion channel that offers diversity for whatever type of music you are playing. Plenty of power and high quality sound,
