American-made, lacquer finished, and now a Badass bridge!

The American-made Precision Bass is a classic, the most widely played and enduringly popular bass worldwide. It was Fender's first bass and in all this time its design has only been refined, not changed. The Highway One P-Bass is American made and sports a thin satin lacquer finish that looks great, lets the grain of the alder show through, and ages beautifully. Now the Highway One has been further upgraded with a Badass II bridge. Changing to a heavier bridge is the most common modification made by P Bass owners. The Highway One comes pre-modified by Fender, along with cool '70s styling and the lowest price of any American-made Fender P Bass.

Fender Highway One P Bass Features:

  • American made
  • Alder body
  • Maple neck with rosewood fretboard
  • Traditional split single-coil pickup
  • Thin lacquer finish
  • Badass II bridge
  • Includes deluxe gig bag

Bad Ass Bass

After playing this bass in the store, i knew without a doubt this is a great bass! It was quite an upgrade from my previous bass i owned and i couldn't be happier with it. The finish on the bass is awesome and the tone you can get from it is even cooler. The pickups are great and the neck is really comfortable. I recommend this bass to anyone who wants a low cost " American " made bass whos on a budget. Don't settle for anything less BUY THIS BASS!!!!!!

Amazing.

This is just a great bass for anyone. You cant go wrong with it. I have a GK (Gallien-Krueger) setup and this thing is amazing. I gave me that perfect tone that i have been looking for for so long. Although, it would have been nice to have a couple more nobs...but i cant complain though. it has the punch that you want. It great for any type of music. ANYTHING. This is an amazing Bass Guitar, and if you have the money you should pick this bass up.

This bass is amazing

I am an active musician and to be honest this is the best bass I have ever played. I have owned a Schaufer bass, a GTX and a Fender Squire, but this defiantly takes the cake in quality and sound. The neck already feels worn in and the pickups are bad ass. Just like its name. Anyway, this bass is amazing, buy it buy it buy it!!!

Highway One... Roadkill

Let me start by saying that I own a Fender American P-Bass and a MIJ Fender Jazz Fretless among many others in my collection. My Fenders are by far my favorites. With that said I went to Guitar Center and couldn't wait to get my hands on the new Highway One P-Bass and try it out. Very disappointed is the best way to sum up my experience. The bass is, in my opinion, the quality of a Squire with a price tag of an American made instrument. The weight of the bass feels much lighter than a typical American made. The pickguard is a white single ply that almost snapped at the guitar jack when I attempted to plug the guitar cable into it. I played this bass through an quality bass amp with an 8 x 10 cabinet and the pickups seemed to lack any type of tone or punch at all. The Highway One has a Bad Ass II bridge and makes no noticeable difference on this bass. The sound and sustain were thin and weak. The body has a new "matte looking" finish which allows the body's wood grain to be admired and "wear". This means that Fender used a cheaper finish on the bass to save money. The finish looks cool and different at first but in reality after playing this bass for a couple of years it will look a lot older than it really is which is fine if that's what you're into. The volume and tone knobs felt cheap. The tone, when adjusted, cut the volume of the bass out all together. Only with some turning of the tone knob a half dozen times did the volume come back on through the amp. This should not be an issue with a brand new bass from any manufacturer. I would not suggest this bass to anyone unless you are looking to thow away your hard earned money on a bass that Fender should've never made, at least in America anyway.
