NEW REVIEW - Fender FSR Hot Rod Jazz - Olympic White

Okay, so everyone loves the classic Fender Jazz Bass. But what are the "Ooh, yeah!" must-have specs that make the older instruments so desireable? Well, firstly I would say that the nitrocellulose lacquer finish is THE one that most people hanker after. Also, a matching headstock completes the overall look. The FSR Hot Rod Jazz has both. The nitro finish will allow the instrument to age in that deliciously appealing way the original Fenders have done. The badass bridge provides additional sustain and top end bite, with the noiseless pickups retaining the classic jazz "bark & bite" while removing the annoying hum when playing under stage lights. The case is a vintage brown tolex style with yellow velvet interior - looks great (and even smells great too) If you get the chance to grab one, then do so! This run is VERY limited, so the collectability factor is pretty high. However, the main factor is that this bass plays great, looks amazing, and sounds fantastic!!!

NEW REVIEW - Limited Edition with Limitless Possibilities

Fender's FSR Hot Rod Jazz bass is a first rate upgrade of the iconic Fender Jazz. Fender has made the two modifications that bassists frequently make - replacing the rudimentary bridge and the standard single coil pickups. The FSR comes with a Badass II bridge (equipped with factory-cut saddle grooves for the strings...finally!)that definitely enhances tone and sustain. The samarium cobalt noiseless pickups do away with the irritating hum that occurs when you play on only one of the Jazz's standard pickups, and they have tremendous tone, clarity and punch. All of the Jazz tones are here, and more. If you're looking for the broader sound of a Precision, the S-1 switch gives it to you without the need for a battery. Vintage touches include a nitrocellulose finish and an early sixties style "Jazz Bass Electric Bass" decal on the white peghead. Add the traditional Fender case and this one is a winner on all counts. It is everything an American Standard Jazz is and then some. Plus, it is an uncataloged model so it will appeal to collectors. It's definitely worth the price of admission.
