This 5-string banjo features a chromed steel rim with 18 piece bracket top, laminated mahogany back and sides, nato neck, rosewood fingerboard, and maple/rosewood bridge. Chrome (geared) machine heads. Other features include dot inlays, chrome arm rest and tailpiece, and white tipped tuning machines. Includes gig bag, strings, tuner, picks, and instructional materials.
I ordered from the store to be delivered to my home. It came. It was packaged extremely well. No damage. Everything advertised to come with it, came. The instruction manual kept referencing a Training CD, but I never found it. No big deal. After I got into making a few cords...it is a blast! Great Product. Beautifully made. The wife says when I get good enough to play, I can come out of the basement.
Banjo has beautiful wood and a nice tone - quite loud. The banjo tunes up fine, but the intonation is out. We did not get a manual for the banjo, so I am unsure if neck can be adjusted. String action is nice up to the 7th or 8th fret, but then the strings sit high off the fret board. If I can get a manual, I will attempt my own set up. The instrument is fine for learning the basics at this point, but a setup will be needed for any advanced playing up the neck. The plastic picks do not adjust for different finger size.
I just started playing Banjo and didn't want to spend a lot of money. I couldn't have done better than this Banjo. It sounds great and looks to be high quality. The fit and finish is top notch.
