A deluxe version of Fender's best-of-both-worlds bass.

The Fender Deluxe P Bass Special 4-String Bass has a Jazz neck, a P Bass body, and a P/J combination pickup array with Vintage Noiseless pickups and active electronics. The P body is a little smaller and lighter, the J neck slimmer and faster, and the combined pickups give you just that much more to play with. A gold vinyl pickguard sets the Deluxe P Bass apart visually, and its satin-finish neck feels worn in from the get-go.

Fender Deluxe P Bass Special 4-String Bass Features:

  • Jazz neck
  • P Bass body
  • Vintage Noiseless Pickups (J bridge pickup, P center pickup)
  • Active electronics
  • Gold vinyl pickguard

This is an amazing bass!

Wow! The first time i played this I didn't want to put it down. I love the jazz neck. Very small and very easy to play. The p bass body is nice and light. The pickup array is amazing. You can get so many unique bass tones. If you're looking for a good growl sound, play the jazz pickup. If you want more of a low end, play the pression pickup. The bass is also great for good slap sounds. I would recommend this bass to anyone.

Fender? Deluxe P Bass Special 4-String Bass

I have never been a Fender fan. Either the neck is too fat or the sound too flat but this is nice!! I picked one up and did not want to put it down. The neck is as smooth and thin as can be. The bottom end is huge and the highs crisp. The fit and finish is way cool. I will have one of these babies before long. Fender finally got it right.

A good playing, awesome sounding bass

I just got this for my B-day and before, i had a cheap yamaha rbx170 beginner bass, but i stepped up to this, and its a world of difference. the fender is so much more precise and easy to play, and it sounds so much better. the active electronics provide such deep sound that has so much growl. it is excellent for slapping and pooping, as well as picking and everything in between. i got it in black and it looks sweet.

what?

I don't know how Fender manages to fit so much tone into this little monster. But they did and its incredible!! Round large lows with balanced mids and highs, mmmmm. Fender basses are about the only things I play (except my Ibanez acoustic) and this one I can't WAIT to get my hands on! The one guy who said Fender basses either have fat necks or thin tone. Well, I agree on the necks, but both P Bass and J basses get excellent tone. This one i must agree though, is the pinnacle of Bass society. AND FOR A MODEST PRICE! Buy it NOW!

Black with a maple neck...nice!

This bass will not let you down. Extremely comfortable to play and good versatility possible with the active EQ and PJ pickups. Setup was dead on from factory and played smooth. Gold pickguard looks nicer then i first thought. Did have a problem with QC, there was a broken pot when it arrived but its all fixed now. Great bass!
