Fender Deluxe P Bass Special 4-String Bass (103137113)
Availability:

A deluxe version of Fender's best-of-both-worlds bass.

The Fender Deluxe P Bass Special 4-String Bass has a Jazz neck, a P Bass body, and a P/J combination pickup array with Vintage Noiseless pickups and active electronics. The P body is a little smaller and lighter, the J neck slimmer and faster, and the combined pickups give you just that much more to play with. A gold vinyl pickguard sets the Deluxe P Bass apart visually, and its satin-finish neck feels worn in from the get-go.

  • High Strings

As reviewed by Ian Davis on 6/2/2011

Went to GC to get the regular P-Bass, but they were sold out. One of the guys there showed me this P-Bass special for. I'm a guitar player, not a bass player, so I just took his advise & got it. I wanted to be able to drop the E to a D too, but I was able to drop it down to a C as well. It started sounding a little loose at C though. The neck seemed a little thin @ the nut, but it it expands greatly towards the body. Anyways, love this bass. The action on mine was very high. I was able to screw down the bridge screws about 7 turns before the strings started to buzz. & the sound is just amazing with the tonal range etc. Also, the bridge pick-ups are noticeably quieter than the neck's.

  • Nice Guitar Bass for its Price

As reviewed by Will on 4/26/2011

I had some Cool offer sent by email from Guitar Center...subscribe to it and take advantage of it. I wanted the Navy one but my local GC didn't have it in stock so I went with the Blizzard Pearl Rosewood ( in the picture looks really dark its much more Clearer and Whiter when you look at it physically. The version I have is the Mexican one (not sure if there is a US version out there) Sounds really nice and the bass itself lets you combine Treble / Bass Cuts and other cool effects. Overall its excellent quality. It comes with a Black Fender Deluxe bag just as described.

  • The next bass to own!!1

As reviewed by T on 4/8/2011

After playing my Ibanez Sr300m for 2 years, I felt it was time to upgrade. I wanted an Ibanez Sr700 which would have suited me well, but I wanted a different sound and feel of a "different" bass guitar. After playing the Schecter's, Warwicks, and Epiphones, I was blown away by the feel of the fender P-Special Deluxe. The jazz neck is nice, fast and very comfortable. The P-bass body is big, but not too heavy. The finish is nice and simple, but gleams in the sun!! The p-pickups and j-pickups makes this bass mean. The two pickups allow for some really nice tones that are unmatched with other basses in this price range. The only other thing to mention is that once I removed the standard Fender bass strings and replaced the strings, I was in heaven. If you're looking to upgrade to a professional bass then this bass will provide you with some serious tone that won't allow you to put this bass down!
