  • LoneStar - The Next Generation

As reviewed by David SIsk on 10/4/2013

Bought my first LoneStar in 2010 as part of the 2008 production batch - still with me today, and one fine guitar with one of the outright best finished necks in the business, in my opinion. Now it has a stablemate in the form of the Deluxe LoneStar in Ocean Turquoise. Wanted a maple-necked counterpart, and the Ocean/Maple combo is very striking; basically stopped everybody in their tracks at my GC as it was extracted from the shipping carton. From "Whoa" to "What IS that?" - the guitar gets noticed, even the LoneStar series doesn't get near the notoriety it desereves. Eric the guitar tech answered the call and immediately dropped in my pearl pickguard for extra visual "POP", and completed a re-stringing with 10-46's and the set-up. Not quite as weighty as the first-gen, the frets are bright silver, and slightly fatter than a traditional medium jumbo, and I'm not complaining. If anybody remembers the late 90's Deluxe HSS - had damn near this same turquoise, and it is gorgeous! The LoneStar/Roadhouse series is the best $600 you'll spend on an electric, in my book.

  • Good guitar for the price...

As reviewed by JOHN on 10/19/2014

Very playable, nice options sound wise with the humbucker and like the other strats I've owned, very easy to adjust the action to your own liking. In writing that, the ONLY reason this didn't get the 5th star is like most strats, you'll probably have to throw away the tremolo bar and lock down the bridge or it'll be a tuning nightmare!! I had mine locked down literally within hours after getting it out of the box and it's been rock solid ever since. Good Purchase!!!

  • LoneStar, Pt. 2

As reviewed by Warren SIsk on 4/22/2014

Bought yet another Ocean Turquoise because I am a huge fan of these guitars (obviously). The consistency of these guitars is pretty remarkable, aside from the varying weights - the latest one came in approx. 5 oz. heavier than my first one, and the neck actually feels a smidge thicker; whatever it is, this second one just hits the spot completely as a result. Fantastic product for the price.
