  • MONSTER BASS!

As reviewed by BillyShears on 5/14/2007

This bass is a beast! It's basically a hot rodded jazz with American electronics and pickups. A 5 string jazz with lots of versatility. The sound youwant is in this bass. Lots of power! This bass sounds like a bass. When the back picup is favored or soloed it growls like an animal. Both pups on you get a well balanced mix of thump and growl. Neck pup soloed you get old school thud and boom. This bass is worth every penny. It's BIG and a tad Heavy but thats what gives it it's BIG and Heavy sound. Very well built, excellent craftsmanship. Smooth neck, and no sharp frets. I took the advice of some of the other reviewers and put on a set of strap locks. Changed the strings to DR SunBeams and did my own set-up on it. Plays awesome! I LOVE IT!

  • Good Bass, Bit heavy

As reviewed by JazzBassGuitarist35 on 11/15/2006

This bass is a really nice upgrade from a starter like the Squier P Bass i started with. I really like the feel of this bass, but the top strap knob has a tendency to loosen itself, requireing constant tightening, but other than that this bass is flawless. Everytime i pull it out of its soft case, it is always nearly perfectly in tune. Fender really steped up this time. Bass is definatly worth the money.

  • Nice price, nice Bass and Excellent Service

As reviewed by PinoyRakista on 4/15/2010

First of all, i am the type of person who always reads reviews but never wrote any. However, this is an exception because I am very thankful to Fender for replacing the Neck of my Fender Deluxe. i did not get the chance to set-up the bass until 6 months of ownership and noticed that the truss rod cannot be adjusted. i explained to Fender the issue I was having and they replaced my neck with no hassle. One tip I would suggest to Mexico made Fender buyers is to take time and test several units. My bass guitar is by far a lot better quality than other mexico made units. Feels and sound like an american fender. In short, I have tested par quality mexico made Fenders, but once in a while I find gems that you should not be let go because they are so worth the $$$. My mexican Fender is a keeper. I own, a Warwick Jazzman and a musicman Sterling. This Fender Deluxe is less than half the price i paid with my other basses but it is very comparable.
