I'm hooked on this amp!

Over the past 45 years, whew has it been that long, I have played through too many different amps and combinations. Once I got hold of the Cyber Twin I was finished looking. I know all those purists out there will tell me that they have 15 amps blah blah blah. Great, do you carry all 15 around with you? It is by far the best amp I have owned!!! It does take some time to to get the feel for it and get it to do what you want, but once you've gotten it down, it will do the job.

Excellent, albiet expensive

This amp has absolutely amazing tone. You hear that in nearly every review - tone, tone, tone, but that's to be expected in the reviews of tonal legends like a Fender Twin Reverb, of which I am also in love with. What makes this exceptional is that this is the first digital/modelling amp I've used that really had tone I could fall in love with, even though the rest are decent. It's not nearly as feature-filled as a Line 6 Vetta II or a PODxt, and doesn't offer nearly that level of control, but what those other products lack is pure, nearly undadultered amp models, with tone that reaches the soul. The effects are quite good, although I wouldn't exactly call them the selling point of this amp, but they are very usable and offer a high level of control for us FX freaks, much unlike those in an AVT or an MG amp. They're not models of other popular effect units like with Line 6's Vetta II, but they're great sounding. The price is a little high, but when it comes to tone this thing is all aces. I'm in love with it.

Great Amp Great Tone

I do not own the Cyber Twin SE but I do own the regular Cyber Twin. I am a user of tube amps and never use solid state ones excluding this. It has great tone and has the response and dynamics you would expect from the amp it is modeling. Although, I would not even call it a modeling amp...It is much better than that. Value wise, the amp is worth much more than it costs. It is of much higher quality of build and sound than amps like the vox valvetronix or the line 6 Vetta. It truly is a great amp even for those musicians who use analog effects and tube amps.

Great sound and lots of it

I have had 2 Cyber Twins, the first edition and now the SE... I have been playing for 35 years and went thru all of the phases and trends, the stacks and such, and this amp keeps me amazed. Now I only play out on weekends and even though it's heavy, it's not bad compared to what I used to haul around. Once you dial it in it is so versitle that you can literally set it up for the night and go thru the programs. Amazing sound at any level with all of my guitars. I use a cry baby on the side and there is no end to the tones I can get.... great, great, great amp

Versatility with a price

At first glance, this amp seems like a dream come true. It offers numerous famous amp sounds in a small, and all things considered, reasonably priced package. The downside, as it is with all modelling amps, is that the amp can only replicate tones to a point. This amp does an admirable job of sounding huge. Its cleans are very good and even the overdrives sound nice. It is extremely loud but I find that the overdrives sound very dry and solid state at higher volumes. And let's face it, despite those preamp tubes, this is still a solid state amp. In my opinion, Vox's Valvetronix line has the lead in hybrid sound quality. For the gigging musician, this is an invaluable amp. Offering you 1000s of tonal possibilities that are all very usable. If you are a tube junky, you probably won't be satisfied. If you want a very flexible amp that does many things well but doesn't excel at anything, this is a good choice.
