I would love this in my collection. Relic scratches and dings included because i like that stuff. This is the original hammer of the honky tonk gods. I think it needs to be played but it is a historical type of guitar. I would have to enshrine it in a class case with guards. Well done FENDER custom shop and a huge thank you for bringing the original TWANG guitar back. Leo Fender is smiling down on you from heaven right now. I hope Fender will make a production version of this style. This guitar does not have to be perfect to be cool. Its all about tone with a Fender. This is the one guitar that real Telecaster players will want. The custom shop has a way of creating history in all its detail. Yes with all the dings and scratches. That is the beauty of the relic and woad worn style. It is like holding the real piece of history when playing it. This is the character built into the guitar and this gives the guitar soul. I like this style because it makes you think of all those guitar players that created the legendary sounds and licks that all guitar players at one time or another will try to play. That TWANG that cut through that put a lot of acoustic guitars into the rhythm position in California country bands in the 50's. Leo Fender created this legendary masterpiece to just that. He was an engineer and he built a guitar neck strong enough to hold his own weight without breaking the neck as he stood on it and that neck had no truss rod. This guitar may look like it was well played but it was made that way. I would guess it is an exact copy of the one factory demo model that is on display in the Fender factory. The same guitar that Fender employees took to the honky tonks to be played by real guitar players on the job. I wonder if some of my guitar heroes played the original. Not many guitar builders did that. Fender did. So this is a honky tonk tested and hillbilly approved guitar no matter how you look at it. Hillbilly, sometimes was the term used for country and western music back in the 40's and 50's. The custom shop pays a lot of attention to detail and they are as close to perfect as it gets. Yes this guitar is looking like it has played in every honky tonk in America but that is art you are paying for. Well worth every penny if you can afford it and you are getting the tone of that bridge pickup that every telecaster player is always buying upgrades to re-create. I think this might not have a truss rod and it probably has a 2 piece pine body. more telecaster TWANG. IF you want the REAL DEAL in TWANG, this is your guitar. IF I had that kind of cash it would be MINE.

  • Awesome guitar with some qualifications

I love the guitar and sound. The only problem is that mine came with a lot of blemishes. It actually looked like it had been used by a band before I received it. When I pay that kind of money I expect perfection. I sent it back
