Brimming with the classic '60s tone that rocked the world.

Fender Custom Shop ’69 Stratocaster pickups produce one of the most revered guitar sounds in popular music history—the full, punchy late-’60s blues rock tone that ruled the era from Monterey on the West Coast to Woodstock on the East Coast. Because of the clarity and transparency created by the unique coil wind and magnet structure, the ’69 pickup design works especially well with pedals allowing the low end to thump and the high end to soar.

Fender Custom Shop 1969 Strat Pickup Set Features:

  • Set of 3 Custom '69 Strat pickups
Used in neck, middle, and bridge positions

Fender Custom Shop 1969 Strat Pickup Set Specifications:

  • DC Resistance: 5.8k
    Inductance: 2.2 Henries

  • As an 'average' guitarist - I think these pickups are absolutely amazing

As reviewed by Paul Z. on 11/20/2008

I'd say I'm an intermediate guitarist who focuses on Gilmourish type music to play, partly because I can handle the guitar pieces - but occasionally dive into SRV and Rush. I have a '95 MIM Strat. I've been playing it for 12 years with stock pickups. Last week I installed the CS '69's. WOW. Let me say it again - WOW. First (compared to my MIM pickups), the external humming is reduced significantly. Second - they sound absolutely amazing. With a little tweaking of effects (or using my DG350) I have been able to get a great Eric Johnson or David Gilmour sound. Heck, I can even sound a little SRV like. It's improved my playing! For all this time I thought my sound was awful because of me - but these pickups showed me that your sound definitely matters. The sound is clear and bright. I think there is much more body to all five positions for the pickups. They may not be the greatest 'metal' sounding pups, but they do great for hard rock too - a la Rush. Can't say enough about them. Really!

  • Great For Classic Kick Butt Fender Sound

As reviewed by J Bee on 3/1/2010

I got these last year and they are kickin butt! I was looking for a Hendrix/Gilmour/Later Clapton sound and these delivered. Great for everything from Funk to Blues to Soul to sounds rocked best on Electric Ladyland. For TRUE sixties glass-a-licious Fender sound, these are what your lookin' for friends!

  • Just what I was looking for!

As reviewed by Jacob on 6/3/2011

I just swapped out the N3's in my American Deluxe Strat for a set of '69s and let me tell you it was the best decision I've ever made these pickups have so much more life and they have that classic growl and bite that you just can't get from noiseless pickups, but they also have such a beautiful clean sound. These pickups are great for pretty much any style except for metal, but they really stand out when playing grunge or blues. I am especially impressed with the bridge pickup, it used to be my least favorite position on a strat, but this one sounds incredible, and the neck pickup seems to have a little higher output than a typical single-coil which is awesome. The only problem with these pickups is that the screws that come with them are too big but in terms of sound they are absolutely perfect
