  • White Jaguarr HH... nice!

As reviewed by shaun on 2/24/2011

I recently bought the jaguar hh in white, for MIM the finish, paint job and everything looked super clean! The only thing is when I got it the action was a bit high, but pretty much every guitar I've gotten needs a setup... The pickups were not very hot, ... or not as hot as I'm used to or would like... but nothing a good overdrive/distortion pedal can't fix. The design I found to be very intuitive, but I can't help to think that instead of a sliding switch for the killswitch effect, if a toggle wouldn't have been better or a push button (as I imagine a momentary switch would probably be more useful) though it would change the look of the guitar, but if your looking to cut the signal between songs or whatever, then it does that well enough. The low cut or normal slide switch, I found that I never do the low cut as it makes the pickups less hot? or less pronounced? but if your looking to use the bridge pickup for rhythm, then I guess that kinda does it. I find that I use both pickups on to get the fuller sound I'm used to, as well as running both pickups at full "humbucker" setting. I've been wanting this guitar for about 2 years and finally treated myself, and I'm glad that they came up with this as the one with the stopbar really wasn't jaguar enough for my liking... my breakdown: nice features but use-ability of features could've been better. good quality & reliability so far, only had it for a month. Look and feel, very nice... I use a leather strap and it makes a world of difference.

  • Very versatile guitar. 4.5 stars

As reviewed by Christopher Wyatt on 12/14/2011

I just recently bought this guitar and love it. The guitar has great versatility due to the pickup blending. Full humbucker and this thing packs a punch, roll them back and you get a single coil tone though not with the pop that a strat would have. The guitar had a very high action on it that was very difficult for me to play but this was easily corrected, I still play on having it properly set up however. I have two telecasters and this guitar really becomes my go to rock guitar, even over a custom HH tele with two seymour duncan humbuckers (59 and pearly gates. The enforecer pickups are great. I will say that the guitar is heavy so take that into consideration if you decide to purchase. My only complaint is that the guitars white paint has a noticeable blemish of color on the body but this is covered by my arm when playing. Its not too noticeable to others but I noticed it very quickly hence the 4.5 star rating I would give it.

  • Pleasantly Blown Away

As reviewed by Evan on 6/27/2011

I bought this guitar having only played the Blacktop Jaguar, hoping that the body shape and necks would be similar. They were. The neck on this guitar is fantastic. Probably the best I've ever played, and easily the best out of the 4 guitars I own. The pickups were surprisingly hot, and the controls give you endless tonal possibilities. The master kill-switch actually comes in handy when using high distortion and not playing. Make sure to get a right angled jack for the input of the guitar too. A regular one will get hit by the trem and get broken easily. Overall, this guitar was set up and intonated perfectly right out of the box. The only flaw I found was that the low E string buzzes a bit around the bridge, but it does not affect the sound when amplified. And sometimes string buzz around the bridge saddles are characteristic of Jaguars. Fantastic guitar though. Bravo Fender.
