Striking Cabronita styling with traditional lightweight Thinline design.

The Cabronita Telecaster Thinline combines Fender’s striking Cabronita styling with traditional lightweight Thinline design. With its semi-hollow ash body (semi-hollow alder on 2-Color Sunburst and Shoreline Gold) with f-hole and dual Fideli’Tron humbucking pickups, it’s a truly distinctive and powerful take on Fender’s first electric guitar.

Other features include a modern C-shaped maple neck with urethane finish, 9.5”-radius maple fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and black-dot inlays, three-way toggle pickup switching, single-ply pickguard (black on White Blonde and Two-color Sunburst models; white on Shoreline Gold model), single knurled-chrome master volume control and vintage-style string-through-body Stratocaster hard-tail bridge.

Includes gig bag.

  • Viva Cabronita Thinline!

As reviewed by STEVE VERHAULT on 3/8/2014

If Cabronita translates to "Little Bastard" then it's Mother must be an ES-335 and it's father a Telecaster! This guitar is really awesome! It sounds very jangly and spanky! It is very Fender-ish but with a little extra mids. Not enough mids to spoil the "fender" sound! It is very twangy, and can be loud and heard but never harsh on the ears. Almost a transparent kind of tone. At first it sounded sort of "cheap" and lacking depth to me. But after increasing the eq high's on my amp and doing a few gig's with it, I fell in love. Also, dirty solos and rhythm sound wicked, not muddy. Features: Two pickups and a neck. Lol I love the one volume knob and 3 way toggle switch! I do NOT miss the tone control, personally. Simple & sweet, volume knob is very easy to reach for "swells"! Quality & Reliability: intonation was non-existent out of the box. So it must be intonated, at least mine did. Now the bridge is weird in that it doesn't perfectly line up with the pickup poles(doesn't hurt sound tho). And it's a "cheapo" bridge, BUT before you "upgrade" it, note that it lends to that "spank" in the tone that I mentioned earlier! Look & Feel: I really like all 3 colors but I prefer the two-color sunburst/black pick guard. Finish is silky smooth and perfect! Neck feels slightly "chunkier" than a normal C shape but it feels great and not too fat. Also, the tension on strings feels looser than American standard tele. Which makes for a VERY fast and springy fingerboard action!! Note: fret edges are typical from Mexico meaning not as smooth as American, but does not bother me. ...even Chinese Squier Tele's have smoother edges. Final: All that and it's not too heavy (thin line) AND only around 700$ ***** It's all I need!! And pure fun to play!!
