  • Extraordinary for the price

As reviewed by Jerry on 4/25/2015

Ive been playing for only a few months now, but I picked it up quickly. ive always been musically inclined, starting with the drums and now moving to guitar. until recently i have been playing my roommates guitar, so i finally decided its time to get my own. i have many guitarist friends, and have had the opportunity to dick around on a lot of nice rigs. i spent a lot of time looking before i came to this guitar. dollar for dollar its by far the best deal ive found. It sounds like a guitar twice its price. It is warm, clear, and powerful. Playing side by side this outperformed most of what i put it up against only second to some fairly pricey instruments. The real winner here is the look, though. This is one of the most aesthetically pleasing guitars ive laid eyes on. you wont find a better guitar under 400. go to yiour local GC and try it out. bet you walk out with it.

  • Mellow Sounding Great Playing Guitar

As reviewed by Steven Ducharme on 4/23/2014

All Mahogany with a solid top. The solid top is what attracted me to this guitar - in a few years it should improve in sound. It has a darker look with black binding & a nice rosette. The finish on the body is nice with few flaws. Gloss top looks good, again very nice with the exception of the grain not matching well - 1/2 of the top has a darker different grain... I think they could have matched it up better. Given the price tag I accepted this plus the store I stopped into only had 1 in stock! The neck is a satin finish, feels great playing it. What matters to me is the play-ability and sound - this is a backup/2nd guitar to my Martin. I was surprised how well it plays - great action, really good sound. Good contrast to my spruce topped Martin. I picked up a couple other $300 guitars in the sound room and this thing just sounded better. I've played it a couple days with only minor tuning - so it has been pretty good so far. If you want something that is easy to play and gives you a smooth sound this is the guitar for you.

  • Amazing, but beware of quality issues

As reviewed by Eric on 10/8/2014

THE GOOD: 1. Beautiful. The most beautiful guitar you'll find under $200 2. Sound. An amazing, loud, bright, and crystal clear sound--almost glass-like 3. Playability. The action was decent straight out of the box 4. Construction. No major flaws on the one I picked out, aside from a tiny gouge in the headstock finish, but see below. THE BAD: 1. A tiny gouge on the headstock; a couple tiny specs sealed into the lacquer throughout 2. I WENT THROUGH TWO OF THESE GUITARS IN THE STORE BEFORE I FOUND ONE WITH A BRIDGE THAT WASNT LIFTING OFF THE TOP. INSPECT CAREFULLY!! 3. One of the guitars I rejected also had a split brace on the underside of the top--not cracked, but split right in two. THE VERDICT: I liked this guitar well enough to buy it anyway--the sound and appearance are simply that good. However, I went to the register with my confidence in Fender shaken, so I sprung for the $28 two-year Pro Coverage, and I would recommend that for anyone else considering this guitar. Customer service was first-rate, however, and the they even threw in a few goodies for the hassle of finding an unblemished guitar. I'm cautiously happy overall. We'll see how she holds up.
