The Squier Bullet HS Telecaster is an ideal entry into the world of electric guitar playing. It comes with a basswood body that's not too heavy, a bolt-on maple neck that's easy to play and a versatile pickup combination. • One of the best $100 guitars ever!!!!

As reviewed by Phineas Henshaw on 10/15/2013

Craftsmanship(8) It is on par with most $200 - $300 dollar guitars. The fret work was decent. The factory setup was decent, No noticeable flaws. Definitely on par with the more expensive Standard, and Affinity series. Maybe even better. The only thing I really care for are the tuners. They work fine. However, I can see that they would need to be replaced due to heavy use. The guitar is very lite!!!! Sound(8) This thing sounds like a Tele. However the bridge pickup is not quite bright enough. Not a show stopper. I like the dark sound of it. Just not the staple Tele sound. It is not bad enough for me to change them out. The Neck pickup is on par. Durability(7) I would do a gig with it. Everything on it is fine except the tuning engines. Overall(8) Hey, it is a $100 guitar. It is probably the best $100 Fender you will ever get. It is a decent guitar at any price. It plays good. It is easy to carry. It sounds good. I am going to spend a few dollars on some tuning engines, and this will definitely be a keeper.

  • the rundown

As reviewed by Bryan Torres on 12/27/2013

I'm both a collector and avid guitar player of over 15 years so I really try to be as upfront on these reviews. I purchased this guitar for Christmas on Dec 22nd so its reletively new. Here are the facts Rundown-neck had great playability. Smooth, unglossed. Although the frets were ever so slightly sharp towards the bottom. The pickups were decent and the construction on the body seemed solid. The wiring and the plug were a bit loose though. When I plugged it into the amp, it responded well. The neck pickup was nice and soft while the humbucker was louder and a bit "crunchy" overall I'd say its a solid beginner guitar and a great platform to work on for future modification. I enjoy playing it but I don't know if this would be a "gigging" guitar unless you invest some $ into it. Overall a good buy for the price.
