Fender Blacktop Telecaster HH Electric Guitar (Rosewood Fingerboard)
Specifications:
I always wanted a fender since i saw Kurt Cobian, my hero, use one on stage. two years ago when i was fourteen, i asked for a strat, but ended up with a lame dean vendetta. But i worked up and saw that my playing was more on par of a shaun morgon type of rhythm. I go down to GC and the sales dude tells me this will make my tone and hands fly up the roof. It did, the neck is awesome, the pickups are great, and the craftsmanship is like my friends american made tele. If you want punch, clarity, and a reason to tell those gibson guys who boss, get this guy. and ROCK ON!
I've had this guitar for a few weeks now and I love it. The bridge pickup has such a nice punchy tone which is exactly what you'd expect for a humbucker in a tele. It makes your cleans sound really sharp and edgy, which is perfect for the style of rock my band plays. The only reason I didn't give the guitar a 5/5 is because outside of the great high gain rock sound you get, you don't get much else. It's tough to get a really true clean sound out of the bridge pickup and if your looking for some nice blues tones from the neck pickup, keep looking. The neck pickup is probably one of the most muddy sounding pickups I've ever played. But like I said, if you're looking for a guitar to get great crunch and distortion sounds, this one is a steal for the price. If your into anything country/jazz/blues, etc. I don't think this guitar is for you. As far as quality goes, it is pretty good for a Mexican-made but you can tell it's not an American and not a Japanese if you're looking hard enough. As far as reliability, I've only had it a few weeks but I've played multiple gigs with it and it's been great. I got the candy apple red version and I swapped out the black pickguard with a pearl one and it really gets a 5/5 for looks. The most underrated feature is the reverse control panel. The pickup switcher is closer to the end of the guitar rather than right next to the bridge. I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally switched pickups during a show because of a poorly placed switch. This is a nice feature.

So far the best guitar in this price range I've ever played!!
Simply put...this guitar is amazing! I'm an intermediate player and I've played a lot of different guitars. So far this is the most comfortable one I've ever played. The neck is smooth and very pleasing to the finger tips. The tone is incredible! I bought a Lake Placid Blue HSS Mexi Strat a few months ago that I absolutely love. Shortly after buying that guitar a friend of mine let me take his black on black HH Tele home after a jam sesh. Within two minutes of playing it I knew I had to have one. Like I said I love my Strat but I think I love this one just a tad more. I've had my friend's guitar for two months now. Nice guy that he is he said I could hold onto it until I get one. Thanks to some family and friends who hooked me up with some GC gift cards for Christmas, I was able to order the Candy Apple Red one tonight. So stoked!! If you want a guitar that's playability and tone FAR exceed the price you're paying...this is the one!!
