  This guitar is a great intermediate guitar i have played around 10 gigs with it an have had only minor problems with it. The 2 and 4 positions on the pick up selector give a cleaner sound but are less output so they are quieter and this can be a problem when playing live and you want a clean tone. I purchased the candy apple red version of this guitar but swapped out the white pickguard for a black one because the white one seems out of place with the black knobs and black tremolo arm tip. I have had this guitar for almost half a year now and it is my primary instrument. I havent had any problems with it staying in tune or with the tremolo arm and I am glad i made this purchase.

  I bought one of these shortly after they were released in 2010. After nearly two years, here are my thoughts: I still can't decide if I want to swap out the pick ups. Sometimes my ear thinks they sound great and sometimes my ear thinks they sound generic and lifeless. That's been true since I first played it in the store. They don't sound muddy, which is more than I ever asked of them. The wood used to make the neck is very soft so be careful if you're leaning it against something (this is why I gave it 3 stars). Frets were very nicely dressed and still are. No issues with the electronics or tremolo although I've since blocked it off. Hardware's decent. Good action. All in all a good buy.

• Extremely Versatile and Sounds AWESOME!

  I play blues/rock and this guitar is perfect. The humbuckers give a nice raunchy, dirty full sound(more like a les paul) and the single coil sounds are pretty much just like a normal SSS strat. I bought the guitar because I have a les paul and wanted something different playing but with a similar sound, but now i almost exclusively use the single coil modes! You can get a nice clean, SRV type sound to high gain rock with just the single coils. I use a Fender Blues JR. amp, and the combination is amazing. Epiphone Slash Les Paul, Fender Blacktop Strat, Fender Blues Jr. Amp, and a Fulltone Fulldrive 2 get a great sound! so many different sounds, so many different styles. Its an awesome guitar. buy it!
