In one of the most distinctive iterations of this legendary instrument ever designed, Fender now introduces the Blacktop Jazz Bass.

Sleek and supercharged, the Blacktop Jazz Bass features dual Blacktop split-coil Precision Bass® pickups that pack a powerful one-two tonal punch. Other distinctive touches are three Jazz Bass control knobs (volume for each pickup and master tone) and a Blacktop HiMass bridge. Features include an alder body, maple neck with modern C shape and gloss urethane finish, rosewood fretboard with 9.5” radius and 20 medium jumbo frets, three-ply black-white-black pickguard, open-gear tuners and chrome hardware.

  • Exactly what your promised

    Fender has given us exactly what was promised with this precision sound in a jazz body. The dual P pickups bring a lot of punch, and there's plenty of high end for for j bass fans. It plays fast like a j bass should, and the action feels light and easy right out of the box, it kinda of surprised me how just how light mine is. I can find no problems with the build quality. From what I've read on other forums some folks kind of look down on a MIM instrument, but if you don't have a grand handy to spend this is an excellent option for the price, and it is a Fender. Again, you get exactly what fender promised and a nice price tag to go with it. I will pick up another true j bass in the future, but I can see having this blacktop for a long time to come.

  • Great Jazz Bass, Great Price

    I've been playing my new Fender Blacktop Jazz Bass for a couple weeks and have already written and recorded a song with it. Nice crafsmanship on this Made in Mexico bass. Clean lines, beautiful detailing. Love the growl of the twin split-coil pickups. Nice, thin J-bass neck. Can't believe the features and Fender name for this low price.

  • AWESOME BASS

    i have had this bass for about 2 months now and it's awesome,it has a huge junk of metal for the bridge,it has sustain for days.all the frets are perfect ,paint is cool,and it stays in tune. i have the white chrome one it looks like the white sparkle addition of the steve harris blue sparkle bass . two pickups i can get all sorts of cool sounds.its well worth the money for a mim fender LL&R
