I made a mistake

DO NOT buy this just because it's 100 watts you think it will go over a drummer, because it won't. It's nowhere near as much power you need to play in a band with. You could barely hear it when a drummer or someone else is playing. There's much better you can buy for the price.

Bassman 100 compact power

A 51-year-old college professor and hobbyist player, I was looking for a replacement bass amp for an Ibanez SW35, an amplifier I was pleased with, but, which, at 35 watts, doesn?t have much headroom. I?d originally planned to buy a Behringer, after my college freshman son had an excellent experience with his BXL1800. As great a value as the Behringer is, it is regrettably too heavy for this old man to tote around. After scanning various manufacturers? sites, it became clear that the best price/performance/size/weight choice is the smallest in Fender?s Bassman series. At 25 lbs., the unit is very light and compact relative to the sound it puts out, and the excellent features (e.g., knob rather than slider-controlled equalizer, output to PA, etc.) make it practical for use in a variety of playing environments. (Slightly larger and heavier, the 150 might make a better choice for a gigging bassist). The Bassman 100 makes my ?82 Fender Bullet Bass sound like a ?real? precision. Highly recommended.
