My Setup is Now Complete...

If your a are thinking about learning to play Bass, listen up: save up $800, then get a Squire Modified 70's J-Bass, Tascam Portable CD Bass Trainer, and the B-DEC and you will have everything you need. The Bass will serve you well up to the advanced level of playing, the B-DEC will make practicing a joy, even when your woodshedding, and the CD Bass let you practice your favorite songs on CD, as well as giving you an outstanding, away from home practice Amp, with the bonus of being able to connect it to the B-DEC. I know it may seem like a huge chunk of change to plunk down, but you will thank me later. If I had known about the B-DEC when I first started, I would have saved about $300 on useless training CD's and books. The B-DEC really does everything they advertise and more. The controls are highly flexible and the included tracks are fun to play along with. If you connect the B-DEC to a computer, you have a potentially limitless selection of Midi files to download. You can waste alot of time and money or get these 3 tools and spend your "jamming on the one". Stop thinking about it, just do it. Now.

all about tone

I bought this today and haven't stopped playing with it. This thing is amazing when it comes to features. It has a built in keyboard and drumline. I've had ampeg and carvin, this small amp catches their tone without the weight. It's totally compact and easy to take with you. If you are learning how to play bass, this is the one to buy. If you need to develope better technique and don't want to blow your eardrums out, this is great. It does not get as loud as most people would like, but lets face it, sometimes a little less is more.

I love this thing!

I've been playing bass for 18+ years and I wish I had this thing back when I started. It's got a great teaching component, but all that aside, the amp modeling is spot on. I own two of the amps the B-DEC mimicks, and they sound just like the real thing. I love the size, I can practice anywhere I like. I've been using it to lay down tracks for videos my friend produces, since everything is tweakable, I use the drums and some of the synth sounds after dialing them in to my liking... It's as if the amp's "brain" is a mini rack mount processor, teacher, drum machine, tuner... the list goes on. I sold my Trace Elliot Combo amp to get this thing, and I could not be happier. My back is thanking me, too...
