Slightly heftier satin neck and Big Dipper pickups with scooped mid.
You'll enjoy professional quality sound from a beautiful axe with the Fender Artist Series John Mayer Stratocaster Electric Guitar. The C-shaped maple neck sports a satin finish and African rosewood fretboard with big Dunlop 6105 frets for a super-comfortable, fast feel you can really dig into. Buffed headstock and vintage '50s decal combine with 3-ply brown shell pickguard and vintage finishes for a fabulous look. Alder body sports an American vintage synchronized tremolo with five springs. The string tree is slightly closer to the nut, just the way John likes it.

what's not to love
This guitar simply produces some of the best tones that I've ever heard. Of course, if someone has a different playing style (rock, etc) they may disagree, but for blues this guitar is king. I can't put it down! ...let's not forget the classic beauty of this strat either... John Mayer has done it again

Best git-Fiddle for Blues...
I have a 93 or so Jap. reissue 57, a Hwy 1, and this model in 3 tone sunburst. I have also owned vintage Strats. This puppy blows them all out of the water. Out of the box setup, finish, neck size and shape, frets, satin backside of the neck, tone (the scooped mid-range was a brilliant idea - tone for days), sustain and playability, it's the tops baby! I've never been so satisfied with a Strat before and won't change a thing on the JM. On the Jap. I changed out the PU's to Noisless Fenders. On the Hwy1 I changed them out to SRV's (which is a must - those PU's are junk) and they wail. Upgraded all of the strings to 11s but this still stands head and chest above the rest. I'm now getting rid of the Jap. Strat - no place for it anymore. If you love the SRV style setup but hate the gold hardware like me - this is your baby. Not rediculous, just perfect. Oh by the way - I had a professional player friend of mine who is used to playing (and owns) Martins, PRS's and Strats as a guest for a week. He'd sit down and play, looking down, his head would start to move from side to side - I thought< oh no - there's a problem. He looked up and said, "Dude, I LOVE this guitar" then proceeded to play it non-stop for 3 hours. This went on for the entire time he was visiting. Nuf Said.

Amazing sound Beautiful Looks What more do u want
Wow, This guitar is amazing, although i do not own this beautiful instrument and it is magic on my fingers. The sound is undisputably a classy Fender sound but the clarity provided is unbelievable, Definately worth the price tag. As for that look with the throwback pick up, just sweet. Great Guitar that will complement whoever uses it.

Amazing!
Great guitar, I am a fan of the Mayer sound, and this will help you get there. Its close to the SRV but not there. Shure they cost about the same, but this has the classic look to it, and once you start playing it you just don't want to put it down!

A Great Guitar
I have once used a John Mayer strat, and it sounds almost exactly like a SRV strat, i sugesst you buy it if you like the blues. This guitar is made for the blues no doubt, it is one amazing guitar.
The only bad thing about the guitar is the value. Not many people know about John yet, but as John gets recognition as being a great guitar player, it will rise.
Buy This guitar, its worth every penny!
