Timeless Guitar!
I just picked up this American Deluxe in the sunburst. The abalone inlays, the binding, s-1 switching, tuners, everything on this guitar blows my mind. I have to tune it ONCE, before a jam, and thats a country-jam mind you, meaning im bending those strings every song. Anyways the tone is incredible, i play through a VOX AC-15 and it rocks. It has a bite on the high-end but all teles do, i just roll off the high on my eq.
Now, the volume knobs are also great, you can roll off and not worry about messing up your tone, which is really helpful for effective dynamics throughout your song.
Overall, this is the greatest investment i've ever made. And its a guitar i know i wont give up, its timeless. Fender makes some great products, you just have to find the right ones, the ones that will last... the American Deluxe Tele has changed my life musically!! Honestly my technique and confidence as a musician have grown simply because of the amazing playability of this guitar!!

Why look elsewhere?
A remarkable instrument by any standard, the Fender American Deluxe Series Telecaster is a versatile, extremely well-made, and terrific sounding guitar. I own (and regularly play) a wide variety of guitars (Gibson, Hofner, Gretsch, PRS, Guild, Hamer, and a few you have probably never heard of), but this Tele has become my "go-to" guitar, especially when I'm laying down demo tracks, writing new songs, or just noodling around. The build is by far the best I've seen on a Fender for quite a while: the fret work is excellent, the finish is extremely good, and the factory set-up was, well, impeccable. Kudos to Fender and Bill Lawrence for their Samarium Cobalt pick-ups, which truly are free of that annoying 60-cycle hum. I suspect that Fender has upgraded the original SC pickups, since those on my guitar produce a wider range of tones and textures than I expected - and have a lot of punch. With the right amp (and, of course, the right effects) there isn't too much you can't do with this guitar. If you think that Teles are for Country players only, think again. At the very least, go to your local music store and try one. I think you'll be pleased that you did; and, who knows, you might become a dedicated "Tele-head". Highly recommended.

Doesn't Get Much Better Than This
Wow. Sweet guitar, puts out a great tone through a fender, vox, marshall- u name it, this guitar just sounds great. plays extremely smooth. I would like to price to come down a little...I have the Aged Cherry Sunburst, with ROSEWOOD fretboard...and let me tell you, if you saw a picture of this guitar, you would be sold, it looks amazing. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Best Telecaster Made to date!
I personally own this guitar in Aged Cherry Burst with a maple neck. I found the construction of the guitar to be perfect, like a custom shop. Smooth neck, flawless paint job, and the hardware is excellent. This is the 2006 model which has the 60th anniversary emblem on the back of the headstock. The SCN pickups sounds clean and quiet, but what makes this guitar is the ability of the S-1 Swithing giving you more options and sounds....This guitar also comes with a hardcase and case candy including the strap lock already installed. Definetely a collectors item..The only thing that wasn't perfect about this guitar is the set up...I had to take it to a tech to have the intonation and action set...but that's a given with any guitar...Definetely going to be a collectors item...This is a must buy if your going to be spending $800 on a guitar spend the extra $3-400 and get this one...you won't be disappointed.

A Very Nice Guitar
This guitar is one of the smoothest guitars i have ever played. It sounds reallly silky and the S1 makes it a very versatile guitar. The downside is the price; however it is one of the nicest tele's and a real gem.

Most beautiful tele you will find
I have the aged cherry model and it is gorgeous. The neck plays really well and the action and intonation were setup perfectly from the factory. I haven't made any adjustments.
This thing also stays in tune forever. Every time I plug it in I go to tune up and end up not turning any of the tuners.
I didn't like the strings from the factory so I put on some 10s and now it is perfect. The S-1 switching in the middle PU position can really get you some nice fat rhythm tones and the bridge PU has that classic tele twang.

Great Axe
I previously owned an Ibanez RG2570 and I was very happy with it, but a year later I found myself wanting something different and new. I know that even though my RG is very versatile, it could take care of the heavier side of guitar, but I wanted something else that could handle the clean side but also be versatile. Thats when I decided to go with a Tele. So I went to guitar center and bought this high end American Deluxe Telecaster and so far I am very pleased and it has exceeded my expectations. The finish is beautiful and the hardware seems like it could last forever. The maple fretboard is smooth and the best part is that it sounds incredible. Im playing this through a Marshall amp and a vox pedalboard and its great. So bottom line, if you want a nice American made Tele and are willing to go the extra dollar for a top notch quality guitar, get it.

Aged Cherry - Maple
Incredible guitar. I may never play my old one again. Went with the maple neck because it felt smoother to me, but that's just preference. Try one out, and I suggest taking it to a professional shop to have adjustments like the action/intonation set.

I LOVE THIS GUITAR
In writing this review it my intention to talk about the guitar and not put it against some other guitar. This is the American Delux Telecaster and delux is what it is. From the moment I looked at the wood grain coming trough the cherry burst paint I was overwelmed. The S-1 switching along with the noisless pickups really make this guitar outstanding. The rosewood neck that I have makes it an ease to slide up and down the frets. It has a clean sound when matched with a good amp like no other. Then, you can put the switch in the middle calling on the neck and bridge pick up. Push in the button in the middle of the volume and get great distortion. I have several guitars that are in the high price range. One is even custom made. So as not to knock any of these other companies or compair apples to oranges. There is no need in me saying what guitars I have. Having said that. If I could only keep one guitar and have to get rid of the others. The American Delux Telecaster would stay. You will love the way it feels and how much work Fender has put into the body. This is great for blues, classic rock, jazz, country, and I will go out on a limb here. It is my feeling that even a metal player could use this guitar. I have matched it with a B-52 AT-100 all tube amp head with a full stack. I also have a fender amp that has the great clean reverb sound. If any of you watched the rock and roll music hall of fame show a couple of years ago. Prince did a lead with the other guitars players that blew me away. I had no idea that Prince was that good on a guitar. What kind did he use>? The Fender Telecaster. You will not be sorry if you buy this. Go to Guitar Center and play one for yourself.

Top tele
Faultlessy made with top-of-line fittings, this tele (aged cherryburst) looks fantastic. Setup needed adjusting with 10s fitted, plays wonderfully. Not light but not particularly heavy either. Sounds great-like a tele should, but with silent pickups. Very happy with it (owned for about 18 months now).
