Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster V Neck Electric Guitar (423688)

Incorporates evolutionary advances while retaining the look and feel that has made the Stratocaster legendary.

The Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster V Neck Electric Guitar has all the modern features today's guitarists demand, with some vintage flavor thrown in. All the cool specs of the new American Deluxe Stratocaster are here, plus a classic tinted maple neck with a '50s V-shape and a compound-radius fretboard that allows exhilaratingly effortless string bending anywhere along the neck.

New Fender N3 noiseless pickups supercharge your sound with improved Stratocaster tones for sparkling bell-like chime with no hum, and reconfigured S-1 switching offers even more knockout tonal options. Additional key features include staggered locking tuners, 2-point synchronized American Deluxe tremolo bridge with pop-in arm, and beveled neck heel. Fender includes a new molded Fender-exclusive SKB case with glass-reinforced latches and TSA locks, cable, and strap locks with the American Deluse Strat.

Fender N3 Noiseless pickups
N3 Noiseless pickups deliver the best of yesterday and today, because they deliver landmark vintage Fender tone and response without the hum that can plague single-coil pickups. Using an improved stacked coil-coil design, N3 Noiseless pickups are specially tailored for each Stratocaster pickup position. The insulated metal core of each pickup position type differs in thickness and composition for enhanced tone, and Fender has fine-tuned the sized, shape, and wire gauge of the coils to balance the magnetic responsiveness essential to great tone. N3 pickups represent a welcome return to the warmth and clarity of alnico magnets. An Alnico 5 magnet is used in the bridge position, Alnico 2 in the middle position, and Alnico 3 for the neck position.

  • Awesome guitar!

As reviewed by Sergey on 1/21/2011

I compared this guitar against Gibson Les Paul Custom , Gibson Les Paul Standard, and a PRS axe. While you can argue for hours about tone preferences, this less expensive strat is definitely the winner in playability. The neck feels amazing and provides extremely fast action. The tone is the standard strat tone, rich and warm, and what they say about those noiseless pickups is true: the Deluxe is very quiet, no humming or buzzing at all. I am still trying to figure out if I want to use a button on the Volume knob. It dulls the tone somewhat, and I've yet to think of the songs where it might come handy. Also, the way it changes the tone is not very intuitive. The build of the guitar is flawless; compared to my Epiphone made in China, this is a real Made in the USA product that Fender can be proud of. Had to take her home.

  • A great Strat

As reviewed by noah bess on 5/8/2012

I recently bought an Deluxe Strat and thought it was what I wanted. An American Deluxe with rosewood/HSS. Turned out that I had tried this soft V neck at the store and I knew after getting the hunbucker guitar home and playing it for an hour or so I had made a mistake and bought the wrong one. If humbuckers are your thing then the HSS guitar was really biting and played very good. It had a "C" profile and also a 9.5-14 radius. But this soft V with the same radius was more to my liking and the vintage look of the maple neck, aged plastic and two tone sunburst was the "Real Deal" What can I say, the S-1 takes some getting used to but it has some very usable tones and the look is truely vintage Fender. The return policy made it esy. I went back and got the Stratocaster I had always wanted. It will only get better with age and without a doubt the best guitar oin my collection. I have American Strats, Gibsons, many over 30-40 years old and this one stands up and takes the stage. Really a great choice, and I think the best buy in the Fender line of Strats.

  • Lives Up To Its Name!

As reviewed by John Edwards on 5/15/2011

I sold my 2003 H-S-S strat, because I never got used to the neck and never liked the tone. I shopped around a lot, and this guitar was IT! The soft V neck feels perfect to me, and the compound radius makes a huge difference when you are bending high notes. The pickups are classic strat-without the buzz--and the S-1 gives you a wide range of tones. I like all of them except 1, but 9 variations is plenty. The set-up from the factory was perfect. The finish is excellent, and the tinted neck looks great. This really is a "Deluxe" guitar. Nice job, Fender! If you are in the market for a top-end Strat, you have to check this out!
