The ash Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster gives you the distinct grain pattern and spanking tone of an ash body, with all the cool specs of the new American Deluxe Stratocaster. A new compound-radius fretboard makes string bending exhilaratingly effortless anywhere along the neck.
New Fender N3 noiseless pickups supercharge your sound with improved Stratocaster tones for sparkling bell-like chime with no hum. Reconfigured S-1 switching offers even more knockout tonal options. Other features include staggered locking tuners, a 2-point synchronized American Deluxe tremolo bridge with pop-in arm, and a beveled neck heel. Fender includes a molded Fender-exclusive SKB case with glass-reinforced latches and TSA locks, cable, and strap locks with the American Deluxe Strat.
Fender N3 Noiseless pickups N3 Noiseless pickups deliver the best of yesterday and today, because they deliver landmark vintage Fender tone and response without the hum that can plague single-coil pickups. Using an improved stacked coil-coil design, N3 Noiseless pickups are specially tailored for each Stratocaster and Telecaster pickup position. The insulated metal core of each pickup position type differs in thickness and composition for enhanced tone, and Fender has fine-tuned the sized, shape, and wire gauge of the coils to balance the magnetic responsiveness essential to great tone. N3 pickups represent a welcome return to the warmth and clarity of alnico magnets. An Alnico 5 magnet is used in the bridge position, Alnico 2 in the middle position, and Alnico 3 for the neck position.

I got the Tobacco Sunburst with Rosewood. It sounds amazing. I was deciding between the new 2012 American Standard Strat and this, but it wasn't even a fair competition! Don't get me wrong the new American Standard is great, too. But when comparing it side by side, the Deluxe Ash is definitely worth the extra money. The tones are what you expect out of Strats: very articulate and bright. But at the same time, the attack of the notes are very sweet. With the S1 switch, I almost don't need my Les Paul anymore. It gives a humbucker like tones that gives the guitar incredible versatility. The biggest thing I was worried about is the compound radius fretboard, but I didn't really notice it much. but it is definitely easy to do chords down low and go fast up top. And did I mention that it is just beautiful. I mean, it is properly beautiful that I'd be worth every dollar even if you just hang it up on your wall and use it as a decoration.
I got this guitar in March of this year. I played every Strat I could get my hands on over the last year. I ended up getting this one and I'm very pleased with it. I have the aged cherry burst with a rosewood board. It's the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen. What really sold me on this guitar was the build quality versus the non deluxe american strats. I also was looking at the road worn strats which sound absolutely amazing, especially for being mexican made, but the build quality wasn't nearly as good as the American Deluxe.
The N3 noiseless pickups are pretty good for noiseless pickups. I will eventually switch them out for a pair of custom vintage style single coils. I play blues and its almost impossible to nail the SRV/Jimi Strat style sound with noiseless pickups, you can get close though.
Overall this is a great guitar that plays INCREDIBLE. The neck and frets are amazing, stays in tune unless you are dive bombing the tremlo bar. Stock strings aren't too good like every guitar out there. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a solid built strat.
This guitar is absolutely radiant. I've owned it 2 months now and I still can't stop staring at it's beauty. It has so many amazing features including fast-locking tuners, S-1 switch, noiseless pickups, strap locks, tremolo, etc. The neck is perfect depth to reduce strain on your hands while allowing anchorage for bending. One curiosity is the width is smaller than other guitars (from string 1 to 6). This allows faster and easier chord making, but not sure if lead playing will be affected. The tone is just as they said, "spanking", lol. It is dynamic, captures your attention, and sounds unlike any guitar I've heard before. My lead guitarist said to go with Mahogony body for warmth (he's a Gibson man), but I'm so far very happy with this Ash body tone. It's light weight, and with all the pickup options can sound like anything you want.
The case it comes in is fantastic, like a coffin, plush, durable and secure, with easy opening TSA locks. I have a new confidence playing this guitar. It is the admiration of all who see it.
