My favorite guitar
I have owned my V-neck strat for about 3 months now and it is the most played of all of my guitars. The feel of the neck and tone just make it perfect for me. The S-1 switching really opens up a lot of tonal variation.
I love the color of the neck - it is not the typical "white-washed" look of a maple neck, it is more yellow/orange and definitely vintage looking. Sweet guitar!

Yes, it is really, really amazing.
This guitar is awesome. It has excellent construction, sound, and feel. The polyurethane coated neck is truly amazing. It's slick and fast.
The samarium cobalt pickups are noiseless and modern. I've read that they were designed by Bill Lawrence. They are strat-ish, but not vintage, texas, or tex-mex pickups. They have a transparency that all of the other strat pickups lack, but the sacrifice is that vintage trebley eq curve and full on quack. Personally, I don't mind this at all. The pickups are so sweet and full of character that they give this guitar a personality not found on any other strat. They are warm and have a presence.
The S1 switching allows different pickup combinations that what is allowed by the typical 5 position switch. It changes the pickup routing between parallel and serial in certain switch positions. Like any pickups, the it's up to the user to find the ones that they like. I'm into "different," so I use the switch a lot.
I have a couple of other guitars that I love for different reasons, but this one marries all of the positives from the others into one - feel, tone, sound, and versatility. Quite pricey for a hobbiest, but really, really amazing.

Still love it
I am following up to my earlier review. I bought this guitar in the 2-tone sunburst and it is great. I wasn't crazy about the color at first but it just looks so vintage (yet perfect) that I it has really grown on me. By the way the picture on here does it no justice at all! The plastic is all yellowed and the neck is almost orange, it doesn't look like a typical strat.
I raved about the neck and the sound previously and still love it - more so now that I have been tinkering with it for a couple months. My playing has seriously went up a couple notches since I got this beauty - I play more and because its so easy to play, better than ever.
I really like the medium jumbo frets but I still find at times I get "caught" on them in slides. That is my only complaint but its just something I need to work on, not really anything wrong with the guitar.
I dont know if a beginner could justify the cost but I would recommend this guitar to anyone who has owned cheap strats and is looking to move up (that is exactly what I did), you won't be dissapointed.

Fantastic Guitar
I have been playing electric guitar for about 25 years as a hobby. I have owned many guitars, with all of them costing below $750. When I found (and bought) this guitar, I knew I had simply been playing with toys my whole life. This guitar sounds incredible. Intonation is perfect, tone is fabulous, the neck is perfect, and quality is top-notch. I love this guitar and can't imagine how I've played for so long without it. I wouldn't have believed that it actually makes me sound like a better player than I really am. I guarantee you will not be disappointed in this guitar. It's much better than any other strat I have ever played in any guitar store. The electronics are amazing and the feel of the neck is buttery. BUY IT.

Pro Player's View
I have been buying and playing Strats since 1971, my first being an original 1957 Sunburst baby. When I bought my American Deluxe, I opted for the Sunburst again.
First let me say, this is a beautiful guitar. Aged look plastic and finish give it a real touch of class. As far as the guitar itself, it's plusses are the solid feel and excellent craftsmanship, noiseless pickups, modern bridge pieces adding sustain, and the humbucker (S 1) switching to help DRIVE your rig when you're in need of making a FIRM statement.
Minuses to me are the floating tremolo which makes it hard to tie down if you want to immobilize it. If you plan on using the trem, no problem. Also, the cobalt pickups, while noiseless and great sounding in their own right, don't quite sparkle like a true single coil strat pickup. The caveat being, I possibly got spoiled using my last workhorse strat with high gain active EMG's for the previous fifteen years.
Overall, a real solid piece. I would imagine as this guitar ages, it will be a real gem. I have already noticed it "settling in" and starting to roar.
