Great Feel, Great Sound

I spotted this at the store and couldn't stop staring, the finish is devilishly gorgeous. I hoooked it up to every bass amp that was there, ranging from an Ampeg combo with a 15 inch speaker to a Gallien Krueger combo with two 10 inch speakers. Through every amp, it sounded great; I couldn't get a bad sound out of it. I messed with the tone and pickup volume knobs a lot and I could only get good sounds; the P/J pick-up combination is great. The neck felt very slim and fast, the body was light and well balanced, and like I said, it was a gorgeous bass. At not too high of a price, I am definitely going to add this to my collection soon. One last note: there is a little removable plate on the back that seems to be made for batteries, but the electronics are not active. I was just a tad confused about this, but it has no effect on the greatness of this bass.

Aerodyne Bass Rules!!!

This bass guitar is so cool. It's extremely light for a Fender bass, the black color of the instrument is awesome, and the tone of the Aerodyne J-Bass is great!!!This bass is best suited for rock, heavy metal, and just about any other kinds of rock music. This bass is awesome and will be the next bass I add to my arsenal.

An Awesome Bass for the Price

I had always been skeptical of Fender since I started playing bass. The weight of them had always been a turn off, playing a heavy bass with a bad shoulder was something I had to consider. Then I saw this beauty in Guitar Center and I had to try it. My first reaction was surprise at how light it was. After I pluged it in I was blown away at how deep it sounded, definatly not what I would have thought from such a light bass. After playing on it I knew I had to take it home. The neck is smooth and fast. The pickups give a decent amount of tone choice and playing it through my ampeg setup it was the best sound that had ever come out of my garage. Later it was put to the test in a full rehersal and it blew everyone else away. I use many effects (chorus, distortion, wah) and they really shined and the bass came through sweetly. When taken to a gig it was always nice to have people come up afterwards and compliment on the bass. Cons: The finish is a pain to keep clean, but worth the effort The bridge shoud be replaced with something like a BadassII, the stock bridge is cheap and can cut your strings Pros: Great selection of Tone Great Value Nice neck Light weight

Fender Aerodyne, a very cool bass

The aerodyne is a very nice working bass -- the P/J format gives lots of versatility, while the J-bass neck is smooth and fatigue-free for long-nights of gigging. I've been playing my Aerodyne live every weekend for the last year or so, and it does great. I replaced the jazz-pickup with an Aero Instruments J-bass 4, the stock one was really weak at top-volume. The Precsion-style neck pickup is meaty and drives the bass when I wnat it. My only nit to pick is the chrome-stuff they treated teh bridge and tuners with, it haws started to rubb off. I use this bass hard, slap, funk, classic rock, and it stands up. Great value and it looks lreally cool on stage.

Best Bass I have Ever Played

I have done considerable amounts of research trying to find the best bass for me, and I play nearly everything. I've tried everything from the Fender P-Bass to the Schecter Stiletto. Then I stumbled upon this guy. The Fender Aerodyne caught my eye with its sexy blue Maplewood body & matching headstock. Alright, now this bass looks good but it sounds even better. With the jazz and precision bass pickups you can pretty much get any tone you want for any style you play. You can slap & pop with the great jazz tone and then you can tune down to C and get a brutal metal tone. If you want a bass that can do anything, and can do it well, I highly recommend saving the money up and getting this bad boy. You won't be disappointed.
