Warmth, comfort, and durability for your fretless.

Gauges 58-72-92-110.

Your fretless bass will love these black nylon tapewound strings and their cool, jazzy tone. The flat nylon wrapping saves your fretless fingerboard from the wear caused by roundwound strings. Soft on the fingers and easy on the ears, Fender Nylon Tapewound strings are long lasting and very warm, tonally. Expand your horizons and try a set!

The Best of Both Worlds

These strings are fabulous. They give the punch of a roundwound with the mellowness of a flatwound (meaning: minimal string noise). Don't expect them to be anything but what they are - wrapped in nylon - they will sound different than anything else you've probably used. But get them in a mix and nothing cuts through in the way they do without cluttering things up with a bunch a stringy twang.

Like 'em a lot!

I have been using these tapewound strings on my old Yamaha RBX 200F fretless bass. The Fender Tapewound strings are extremely easy on the fingers and durable. They offer a great mellow sound for a quasi-upright sound or "sing" in the higher register for a normal fretless sound. I often use a 2.0 mm Dunlop pick to get a 60-ish pluckiness. I play weekly on these strings and they've last a long time without a significant loss of brightness or onset of dullness.

Did not like them.

I did not like these Fender? 9120 Nylon Tapewound Bass Strings at all. I used them with my rogue bass and the were dead sounding from the moment I put them on. I play Jazz to metal and these strings did not fit in anywere. I really dont like them.
