Product Information

Four decades later the Mustang still has the punch that made it a trademark rocker.

Fender's reissue of the '65 Mustang Electric Guitar, hearkens back to the first full year of Mustang production. The Mustang guitar was originally conceived as a student model but over time it's been seen on some important shoulders including those of David Byrne, John Frusciante, Kurt Cobain, Todd Rundgren, and Adrian Belew to name just a few!

This reissue Mustang has great color and cosmetic options, as well as a heightened level of period-correct detailing (body wood, logos, etc.)

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

Fender Mustang, great guitar

I have a 65 reissue made in 98, this is basically the same, just some upgraded details(tuners and such). This is a great guitar, the smaller scale neck is perfect for fast playing and isn't a problem for people with larger hands(like me). I run this through a Boss DS-2 and EH Small Clone. It has great tone and sustain, the tone knob is VERY effective, unlike some Strats. You may want to change the tuners or bridge someday but they're still fine without a change. This reissue is a good buy whether this is your only Mustang or another to your Fender collection.

An amazing axe.

I picked up a daphne blue Mustang in a guitar store and just couldn't let go of it. The pickups sounded great and the selectors gave some diversity. I love Leo Fender's Dynamic Vibrato design. Amazing in every way, though a little on the expensive side for what began as an upscale student guitar.

fender mustang

ok so i bought this ax about 3 months ago. i love it. the small neck is great or playing rythm and feels great in ur hand. the pickups are a bit punchy which is another added bonus. overall i love this guitar the one thing that bothers me is the tremolo. it goes out of tune if u touch it. the fender mustang is a must for any musician. too bad mine got stolen.

Sweet, smooth and clean

My other guitars haven't been touched since I brought this guitar home. Solid, well balanced, short-scale guitar. The tone knob actually changes the tone!!! I suggest owning one of these and a vintage one. You won't be disappointed with this guitar.

1965 Re-Issue with Added Duncan Humbucker......

I recently purchased one of these used, and the original owner had replaced the rear single-coil pickup with a Seymour Duncan humbucker. I have a Texas Deluxe Fat Stratocaster that was designed with these pickups, and if I can recommend any modification you may be considering to do to your 1965 re-issue Mustang, this would be the first. If you're a fan of original alt. rock (90s), as many advocates of these types of guitars are, you'll love the added crunch and distinction this mod. gives the Mustang. I'd also be curious to discover how the Duncan would sound in the front (neck) as opposed to the rear.

Phenomenal piece of equpiment

I bought one of these in Daphne blue a while back and have not once regretted it. The selector switches offer a broad range of sound, from creamy clean highs to rich overdriven tones. The vibrato is INCREDIBLE. It never puts the thing out of tune. All in all, I'd say this is a guitar worthy of buying, playing, and then handing it down to your children.

The Perfect lil indie guitar

I bought this guitar only knowing about it by the musicians who had used it before. I love 90s style indie rock/ college rock and i realized that most of the musicians i liked had used a mustang at one time. it has great history. the pickups give so much to your sound and tone no matter the amp you use. it has a smaller body style than most strats and telecasters. this guitar so a good idea if you are interested in the jazzmaster but dont have 13 hundred bucks to drop. the jazzmaster takes this guitar hands down but the mustang holds its own. my only two problems with this guitar are the awkward tremelo and the switches for the pickups. when i play live i electical tape them down because it is very easy to switch your pickups off.
