Gutsy, vintage appeal for the Precision player.

Amoeba pickguard, vintage chrome knobs and knob plate, stunning butterscotch blonde see-through finish, and classic narrow headstock make it look as cool as it plays.

- One-piece maple neck/fretboard
- Single-coil pickup

Nice for the price
I played an original early 50's "Tele" Precision (as well as a '62 Jazz bass) as a kid, my teacher had both and I think just liked the tone of the Fenders better than the Ric I had then. So when a friend bough a Reissue 51 Precision recently, I had to check it out. It seemed to capture the spirit of the original in that it's well built (especially for the price)with a super solid feeling neck that's very playable. The Ash looks great and the vintage headstock and pickguard are a nice touch that make this feel almost like a custom shop type of reproduction; once we hooked it up through a Bass Podxt, we started dialing in some very convincing vintage tones within seconds, it got some nice modern ones too, so it's not a one trick pony as Fender built them to be all purpose basses for country, jazz or whatever.
Maybe a little something extra went into these as reissue series basses. Or maybe it's really that Leo Fender did such a great job of designing every aspect of his instruments that all they have to do is follow the directions. I generally buy the more expensive American Fenders, but the quality the company produces at all price ranges never ceases to amaze me.
If you're looking for a bass in this price range, you owe it to yourself to check out the original.

Dream bass...
This is the bass that I have wanted since I started playing. The tone and craftsmanship of the bass is amazing. I play with a pic, so it dosen't bother me not to rest my thumb. It's got that good, punk sound and a good walking bass sound whenwver you need it. My '51 hasn't let me down yet. Buy one when you get the chance.

Vintage Glory
This will be my next bass. I played it for about half an hour in the store today, and I did not want to put it down. The single coil pickup throws out some poppy yet punchy tone that is only available on this. The color scheme is amazing to, and the finish is flawlwess. The neck is fast and the frets are small which I like
I played it through a Fender Rumble 100, which isn't the best of amps, but it still sounded amazing
