This Eminence speaker fits '59 Bassman. 8 ohm. 30W power handling.

I purchased four of these speakers for a 1976 Ampeg VT-40 amp. I had the same amp in the 70's and loved the sound with exception to the speakers blowing out all the time. In those days the only place I knew to go for speakers was Radio Shack, which wasn't the best but sufficient. So, when I found the same amp on ebay the buyer told me that one of the speakers were blown and one had been reconed , I realized that if I were to buy the amp I would need to install better speakers rather than getting the original reconed and having them blow again. Alas! Enter the Fender Alnico's. I purchased 4 of these bad boys, if you didn't know the VT-40 is a 4x10 amp. Everything lined up perfect, they were in outstanding condition and shipped very quickly by Guitar Center. They have a very nice clean sound to them with some bottom end but when I crank the amp up they start to break up a little and you get that sweet natural grow out of them. Now, they are still new and need to go through a break in period. Just from first impressions I think they will work out perfectly the more I push them. I saved the old Ampeg speakers just in case one day when I'm not able to play anymore someone would want the original's , but I wouldn't understand why? These Fender's are well worth the money and if you wait until GC sends or offers you and coupon you can put that towards them for even a better deal. Hope this makes your desicion on these speakers much easier. No need to spend a fortune on Celestion Alnico's when you have these available. EO
