Great Cajon

By Percussionista

from St. Louis, MO

Comments about Fat Congas String Cajon Drum:

Both playable surfaces of this Fat Conga String Cajon sound great. The snare side has great bass, and the snare and slap sounds are also clear and distinct. The other side has great tone in both the lows and the highs. I have played both Meinl and LP cajons, and believe the Fat Congas cajon is superior. It also sounds great amplified through a sound system (I miked it from the outside).

THE MOST FUN DRUM AROUND!

By Gtron

from San Diego, CA

Comments about Fat Congas String Cajon Drum:

If you have never played on one of these, I demand that you try one out. They are the most fun to play in my opinion. Tons of different sounds! The Fat Congas model sounds way better than most, every hit sounds in the pocket, and never comes out muddled!

Fat Conga String Cajon... simply amazing!

By Stephen Malphrus

from Columbia, Missouri

Comments about Fat Congas String Cajon Drum:

The second I started playing this cajon I knew I made a wise decision. I have yet to hear any other cajon that has such a powerful bass sound mixed with crisp, clean, distinct snare sounds. If you're interested in buying a cajon, the Fat Conga String Cajon is the way to go. I wouldn't suggest any other cajon! I'm extremely pleased!

You'll want to learn more beats with this

By Craig

from Long Beach NY

Comments about Fat Congas String Cajon Drum:

I tried a bunch of Meinls and I think a pearl, all of which sounded like I was slapping a pile of sticks. This actually has distinct tones. Hitting the middle gives a nice low end thump and hitting the corners have a great slap. It keeps up with the loudest of acoustic guitar players. I bought mine used with one of the corners was a little warped. A little tweeking and I was able to make the corners sound about the same; gives it character. These are great for jamming on the boardwalk with some acoustic guitars!

WOW!

By Jim G

from Greenville, SC

Comments about Fat Congas String Cajon Drum:

Seriously? I researched and I researched, I even priced hand-made cajones from Germany and South America. I could not find anything that beats the Fat Congas String Cajone! It has a great open afro-cuban sound on the back, and the front gives a strong flamenco style sound. It is like having 2 cajones in 1. It is very responsive....dynamics are easy to produce consistently, and even finger technique is possible. BIG SOUND with little effort. This baby is a few bucks more than most of other commercially made cajones, but it sounds better and is half the price of many custom-made cajones I have looked at. To me, it is the best value on the market.

Versatile, great sound

By Skovy

from Ventura, CA

Comments about Fat Congas String Cajon Drum:

I am a drumset player, and was looking for a small, portable, good sounding acoustic instrument for use in intimate, acoustic settings. The Fat Congas String Cajon meets all those criteria. I have owned my Fat Congas String Cajon for about a month. Have played it at an acoustic band rehearsal and at a house party with good results. The string side has good bass and snare sounds. The opposite side has a deeper, quieter tone. Like getting two cajons for the price of one. Sounds great, and looks great, too. Solid construction from carefully selected tonewoods. Great value for the price.
