  • Excellent guitar

As reviewed by Stephen King on 1/5/2014

For the price you will be hard pressed to find one better. Acoustically it sound is a little bland, but plugged in this thing shines. I bought this for my wife who actually thinks the opposite of the guitar. She likes it allot acoustically but doesn't like plugging it in. Its all a matter of opinion. Either way Fender is making some great sounding, great priced accoustics. If you are looking for a straight Accoustic take a look at the DG-8S pack. You won't find a better Electric-accoustic than the T-Bucket for the price they ask for it. And the finish is perfect right out of the box. The action was set very low and it is very easy to play. Check it out :).

  • Very Rugged Guitar

As reviewed by Dan Boren on 4/19/2014

I purchased this guitar 1 1/2 years ago off of the Guitar Center website. I had been playing for about 4 months when I purchased this guitar, and it has helped me identify what kind of music I love to play; the purpose of a beginning guitar. This guitar (in my opinion) has a very balanced tone and sounds very nice when plugged in. I found it to be a little too quiet for what I like to use it for (Heavy strumming/heavy finger-picking). For most finger-pickers/aspiring finger-pickers, this may not be your dream guitar. However, I found that I love finger-picking on this guitar, and find it to be very competitive to guitars twice its price in this area. I also found that this guitar's sound begins to break up relatively quickly whenever I begin to strum with large amounts of force. Therefore, there isn't much to play with in the mezzo-piano and mezzo-forte sound range. But I really do like this guitar when I want to strum pretty heavily. The reason I didn't award this guitar with five stars, is first of all, even for the price, there are better instruments available made with better materials which make them sound better. Another reason is that there was some fret buzz on a few strings for the first few months I owned it (at first it was very annoying, but after a few string changes and some slight adjustments, it is hardly existent). I suggest sticking with medium strings on this thing, and I personally suggest Dean Markley Helix strings on it (they sound great). This guitar is very tough (I've dropped it a few times) and will last anyone several years. Perhaps one of the reasons for this ruggedness, is that it weighs quite a bit compared to other acoustics I own. Overall this guitar met my high expectations that I set for it, and has impressed me thoroughly. Ideas of songs it sounds good with: Good Riddance by Green Day, Layla (Acoustic Version)by Eric Clapton, Blackbird by The Beatles
