Bought this pedal, took it home, and it wouldn't power up properly (never left the initial "Eventide" loading screen that appears when the unit first gets power). I returned it at Guitar Center. The replacement TimeFactor worked fine for about 2 months then one of the rows of LED lights on the graphic display went out. This didn't hurt the function of the pedal, but made it difficult to read (was hard for me to tell what the number was on the screen when I was tapping in tempos...very important). I sent it in for warranty repair. It took over 2 weeks; this included me paying for rush shipping to get it there. After the warranty repair, it worked for 3 weeks and then the newly fixed LEDs went out in the middle of a show. 3 major errors in the first 5 months of having this pedal. The sounds on the pedal are great. The pedal is a bit difficult to learn to use and operate (an external pedal really makes it function better). Clearly isn't built very well (although it appears to be built like a tank, it's definitely not). I'm on a major tour and don't have time to mess with constantly breaking pedals. You'll need good luck if you buy this pedal.
Simply put, there's nothing that comes close to this. It sounds better, has more capabilities, and is easy to setup, update, and use. I've been playing for 45 years and have seen more than my share of boxes between my guitar and amp, but this is the best thing ever to grace my pedal board. It cost more than most stomp box delays, but there's a good reason for that. It's the best. If you want the best, look no further. Don't spend a little less to save money unless this one's simply not an option. On top of the fact that this one sounds and works better than all the rest is Eventide's name ad reputation. Research it yourself. This is the king. Best money I've spent in many years.
Well the title says it... If you need up to 100 Delays for your entire set, this is the one!!! it is the most versatile Delay in pedal Form. the tape delay setting is super warm, and beautiful... also it can be MIDI controlled, to recall any preset instantly, and to bypass the unit. It also features any bypass configuration, and it allows you to elect to have the delay finish its remaining repeats after you have bypassed the device.
This pedal is incredibly accurate and easy setting the timing! It has knobs to tweek every character of the delay to get exactly what you want it to sound like. The usb software update was seemless and easy to use. The dual delay feature is exactly what I hoped for. I will not settle for anything less than this now. Although it is expensive I have always believed "you get what you pay for". The product should be a lot because it has a lot. Get it!
This thing does it all and does it very well. It's much more versatile than the 2 BOSS Delays I had on my board, DD3 & DD6, and you can get some really nice chorus and flanger type sounds too. It is easy to operate, easy to program, easy to use live, and it puts a smile on my face every time I use it. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? YES!
I was first introduced to the eventide by my music studio teacher who is a professional gutiar player. I myself play fiddle with country and country rock bands and was a bit skeptical if I needed all the sophistication that the eventide provided. After a few afternoons of playing around with it I was convinced I made the right purchase. The Bank feature is nice and I can store more than enough presets. I would recommend bying a boss auxiliary switch so you can toggle between bank and play mode without waiting two seconds if you only have the pedal. You will turn heads with this pedal. Even though people give a fiddle player a hard time for having a pedal board, once they hear how great the delay sounds with my accoustasonic amp it shuts them up real fast.
this thing is unbelieveable. you can seriously get the EXACT dealy timing, sound, etc with this pedal. but if youre going to go with this pedal, its going to take a lot of time to know it and learn all the things this thing can do, sit down with just you and the eventide, quality time together. the timefactor also has a looper, which is my personal favorite over all, its like having an invisible 2nd guitarist. you can even overdub on the looper. also you have the option to pick your bypass between, rly bypass (true bypass), dsp bypass (default), and it also has a new bypass, the dsp dly bypass which does not kill the tail end of your delay effects which is sweet. again, this pedal will take time to master
This is truly the BEST delay pedal I have ever used. There are so many ways to utilize the functionality of the unit...MIDI, external controller, and an expression pedal. It is not analog, but comes really close to the analog sound. It's really easy to program (just grab a knob and turn), and I love the choice of bypass mode (TRUE, DSP, DSP+FX). It will never become obsolete due to the ability to upgrade VIA USB. If you do buy it, make sure to upgrade the system ASAP...it adds 20 more presets and some other nice features:) If you're looking for a delay pedal that will send you into outer space, this is it! If you're just looking for a simple delay, this is probably too much.
