Not bad

Comments about Evans G Plus Coated White:

I bought a 10, 12 and 14 for the toms on my Gretsch USA kit. At first, I didn't like them: They were a little hard to tune and didn't seat well. Left them alone for a couple of weeks while I was using another kit on a gig. Came back to them and now they sound pretty good. They probably just needed a day to seat better (not 2 weeks). I would recommend tuning them medium/high pitch-wise the first time, let them sit overnight, then you will have better luck tuning them lower. this will let the plastic edge conform to your drum's rim. I like the coating - not too scratchy, but enough for brushes. They ring, but not a lot, and have a darker tone than regular single ply heads. They are probably durable, too, because they are thicker.
