Evans broke new ground by developing the EC2 batter head, which removes unwanted overtones, focuses pitch, and enhances attack without inhibiting the dynamic range as other damped heads do. Rolls around the toms spread in clean intervals; floor toms groan with presence. The EC2 features an "Edge-Control" ring mounted underneath two plies of 7mil film. By controlling, instead of eliminating, edge vibration, the ring isolates and damps higher overtones, enhancing low-end and attack, and enabling a broader tuning range.

I bought these heads for my birch kit. My band has done nothing but complained about my drums since I put them on...They say they are too loud and their ears keep ringing!. These head will make almost any set sound good, but with the EC resonant heads, any drum will sounds awsome. Trust me.
The ec2's have a great tone with no over ring.Very focused and deep. And if you really want to bring you drums alive put new resonent glass heads 0n the bottoms... what a difference!!!
Okay, here's the deal. Evans drumheads may not be considered as good as Remo, but man, these EC2's sure do come very close. These drumheads have a great, warm, round tone the brings your fusion toms alive. And, hey, you can't beat the price. So, the bottom line is- These drumheads are Perfect!
ive been using these heads for about a year and they sound amazing. ive had clear and coated i like clear better its got more of a punchy sound i recommend these to anyone from beginner to expert.
It would seem Evans answered requests by many drummers (myself included) for a drumhead that kept the tone and punch of an open head, while muffling out some of the more annoying high end frequencies that seem to stand out while miked. An added benefit it seems, is that the low end is enhanced. This also makes tuning a much easier process. All said and done, the EC2 Clear drumheads give you the "studio" sound, without taking away from response or clarity. Just another great drumhead from Evans.
These heads are phenominal! I've been using these since the first week they were introduced and I love them! Deep, full tones are easily achieved with the EC-2's especially with smaller fusion sized toms. Big, fat sounds boom from larger floor toms as well! I find these heads are very easy to tune and do a great job of eliminating unwanted overtones, plus they hold up very well to constant playing. I always get compliments on the tones I get out of them. I highly recommend these for both live and recording situations!
The problem with fusion sets is that they sound too high toned. These will help with that problem. These are great heads. I use these and a standard set for my eight piece. They make my set sound really great.
i meant to get the remo pinstripe heads but some guy recommended these. i love the sound and how they cut out ringing but still i like remo. i def reccomend these if you like evans. but if you like remo then try getting pinstripe.
