Overview

The EC Resonant tom head is the first bottom head to promote the natural tone and body of any tom by means of frequency "tweaking." The EC Resonant tom head is constructed from a single ply of 10 mil ultra-clear film augmented with the Evans EC ring. It attenuates unwanted overtones and centers pitch, while delivering a desirable mid-range frequency bump. It's the first head to have the capacity to control and correct the tuning inconsistencies of bottom heads, a long-standing roadblock to perfect tuning for many drummers. The result is a more resonant, fatter tom that projects a truer pitch, irrespective of volume levels.

Evans made a quantum leap with the EC Resonant. This head should stun drummers accustomed to attributing better tom sounds only to batter head selection. They'll be shocked to discover that their dream tom sound was laying in wait: the EC Resonant releases it.

Go ahead and spend your money on your lucky bet of many resonant heads out there. Once that has failed listen to me and just buy one of these resonant heads and you will become as confident as me. Best to ya!

Works great with a G2 top head for a nice dry but resonant sound. Not choked at all!

        Best Evans resonant heads!!

        By Brandon Walls

        from Rougemont, NC

Comments about Evans EC Resonant Drumhead:

These heads are the best resonant heads I've used since I've been playing. They have no overtones and they really open up your toms to have a nice deep tone. They sound good on 8"-12" toms and nasty sounding on floor toms. I am using EC2 heads and I love them, however I may use Hydraulic heads for an even more low tone.

        Nice for what they are

        By Trevin

        from Maryland

Comments about Evans EC Resonant Drumhead:

I've used EC2 heads since they came out a few years ago. The batter heads are all i use and I love the new version. The EC2 Resonant heads do help take some of the ring and overtones out but it's not going to be an instant fix for all of your drum sizes and types. Depending on the sound you like and the design of your bearing edge it will vary, so could be great for some and terrible for others. I have very sharp bearing edges and tons of resonance so some drums still required a little more muffling, especially the larger toms.

        Focused Sound

        By Taylor

        from Texas

Comments about Evans EC Resonant Drumhead:

From the second I brought the new heads up to pitch, without fine tuning, i saw an ENORMOUS difference. I think it's a misconception that a clear concentrated tom sound is only appropriate in heavy metal. These heads give a great focused sound without being choked.

I tuned this bad boy up and it really opened up the tones I wanted to hear and COMPLETELY eliminated the ones i didn't. DEFINATELY worth the money!

        Want more resonance?

        By John

        from Gigharbor,WA

Comments about Evans EC Resonant Drumhead:

Regardless of what batter head you have, these EC Reso's will open up the sound of your drums but center the pitch to where there is much less ring. The EC reso is far more easy to tune then the average Remo Ambassador or Emperor and it also stays in tune even longer. I have run these with Evans Ec2's, Remos pinstripes and ambassador's and they all have sounded more resonant, deeper, and have had a much better centered pitch for when you hit the head. My recommendation is that every 2nd or 3rd batter head you purchase, replace the resonant head!

        Great head...worth the price!

        By Keith

        from Silver Spring, MD

Comments about Evans EC Resonant Drumhead:

This head brings it all together. The thicker film construction of the head allows for deeper, more focused tone that a lot of rock/metal drummers love. I like Evans heads (was playing with Hydraulics on my kit) but wanted to try and open up the sound of my Tama Starclassic kit a little more. Putting on the EC2 batter heads with the EC Reso heads on bottom has really opened up the sound without a lot of ring, overtones, or unwanted noise coming from the drums. The key is to match the pitch top & bottom. I promise you will not be disappointed!
