Ok, so they do the job, getting rid of the ringing. The only problem I have with them is half of the ones I bought that are supposedly fit don't. They almost always fly off while I'm playing, and if they don't then they always get caught on my drumsticks. I really do not like them.

A great purchase!

By Trace Brown

I was using Evans EC2 heads on my toms and thought they'd get rid of overtones. They kind of did but the drums still rang and I didn't enjoy it. But, I decided to buy these online and when I got them I LOVED how the toms sounded afterward. I definitely recommend grabbing these if you want to really deaden your drums!

Turning dirt into gold!

By david trotter

from Des Moines, IA

I bought a used 5 piece kit for $70, and it sounded decent once I replaced the heads, but I just couldn't get the 12 inch tom to sound good. I was pretty happy with the 13 inch, and the 16 inch floor tom sounded amazing. I bought the E-ring kit and put them on and now all of the tom's sound great! The rings focus the sound of the drums, and gave my 12 and 13 an actual pitch! I knew they were tuned correctly, but now I can confirm it because the 12 doesn't sound like the air being let out of a balloon anymore. I'd highly recommend over folded gaff tape or moon gel's. It's made my 70 dollar drums sound more like an 800 dollar kit.

Awesome

By Alec

I was trying to get my toms tuned without overtones. I went to GC to see if I was doing anything wrong. They said my toms sounded ok, but I want to get rid of the overtone. So they recommended these to me. I brought them home, put them on and it was like magic! The over tone was gone! I'm going to continue to use these a lot.

They do what they're supposed to do, they look good too, but...

By DK

I like how these are clear in color. The Remo's are an ugly white. One thing to keep in mind is that there is a possibility you can pick up a dud pack which may have one or two rings which are not 100% round. My first pack had a 10" that wouldn't sit properly on the drum. At first I got scared and thought my hoop war warped but it was the e-ring. You can either return it for another pack or just cut it a little rounder. I like these better than moongels because I think moongels muffle too much and they are affixed instead of floating. Also moongels will color your coated heads blue and you cannot remove the discoloration! I use the e-rings for practice, quiet play, and when I'm mic'd up. For live play, I like the drums to be free and open. The package also comes with a nice article on the backside regarding tuning your drums. I recommend using these with non-muffled heads. Why would you want to muffle an already muffled head anyway?

I baught these after i got a pearl masters mcx set, the kit still had the remo stock heads on and at the time i had no clue how to tune drums! i heard about the rings and decided it was worth ten bucks to make my drums sound like HEAVEN! now that i know how to tune my drums, they sound 100x better!
