Overview

With big drum kits comes big responsibility. High toms need to sound punchy and robust, not small and weak. Low toms need to sound articulate and clear, not muddy or muffled. Black Chrome heads have got you covered. The unique design accentuates the mid-to-low-end frequencies that small drums need to sound rich and deep to match the rest of your kit. Precise articulation and tight sustain let your low toms and floor toms sound naturally thunderous, clear and periscope-deep at any tension - no tape, rings or sticky messes required.

On stage and in the studio, Black Chrome heads really come alive. They are the tom microphones' best friends, requiring significantly less EQ'ing and tweaking than similar heads. So you can work less and play more with the deep tom sound you want.

Designed to satisfy the heaviest of hitters, Black Chrome heads restore the mid-to-low-end frequencies that vanish when your tree-trunk sticks deliver crushing blows to your toms. With a 7mil clear top over a 7.5mil black bottom, the sleek and unique 2-ply design adds plenty of body and deep tone to support the natural high-frequency attack of high-impact drumming.

The Black Chrome's sexy, black-mirror finish lends serious attitude to your music while its clear top ply keeps any black marks off your drumstick tips, white snare head and cymbals.

The Evans engineering and design teams were focused on discovering the perfect combination of materials for Black Chrome. They experimented with unique film pairings, custom adhesives and out-of-the-box design concepts to produce a drumhead of superior tone and durability.

Power drummers no longer have to choose between great sound and long-lasting durability. The unique Black Chrome design does more than just make your toms sound great - it keeps them sounding great long after the heads have been installed. Custom adhesives unify the durable 7mil and 7.5mil films to produce a virtually seamless super-material. Plus, exclusive Roll-over Hoop technology provides extra durability at the widest range of tensions.

Comments about Evans Black Chrome Tom Batter Drumhead:

I have always use the Evans EC2 clear drum heads on my kit during live performances and studio work, the black chrome heads sound more deeper and darker than the EC2, for me that is a good sound. The drawback is the head does have a little overtone on it during studio work

Comments about Evans Black Chrome Tom Batter Drumhead:

I use the Evans Black Chrome for Extreme Metal Playing and it holds up very well during live sets. Extremely happy with these, I been using evans EC2 for the longest time and the Black Chrome is superior.

      Pleasant Surprise

      By

      from Rio Rancho

Comments about Evans Black Chrome Tom Batter Drumhead:

I have been playing with some Evans Black Onyx heads but i had to put moon gels on them to stop the ringing. the Black Chromes litereally came out the day after I bought the Onyx's. I bought a set and have been hanging on to them while I got my monies worth out of the oynx heads. I finally put on the black chromes this week. I must say that I was a bit skeptical after reading some reviews. I have a DW Collector's Series kit with 10, 12 and 14 inch toms. compared to the mapex birch meridian that I was playing prior with 12, 13 and 16 inch toms, I was kind of wanting a deeper tom sound out of my DW's but wasn't getting it. That is why I decided to give the BC's a shot. They are a thicker head and they do have a deeper tone to them. A couple other things I like about them is that for one, I don't have to put moon gels or dampening rings on my toms now to stop the ringing. the natureal tone that is coming out of my kit now is fantastic. I can't wait to play these things live now. I do have a 16 inch tom ordered for my DW kit that should be here in 2 months and I'll be putting a BC on it also. these things tune up so easy it isn't funny. they look great and I love everything about them. the sound, attack, decay, tubability. I would highly recommend these heads.

      Extremely Incredible

      By

      from Meridian, ID

Comments about Evans Black Chrome Tom Batter Drumhead:

I just put these heads on today and was instantly blown away with how quick I found my tuning. The Level 360 technology allowed me to finger tighten the lug nuts and with a quarter rotation on each lug with my drum key I got the exact sound I wanted. They even made tuning my 14" floor tom to the deep tone I wanted within a minute or two. These heads are a very dark, thick head which I like a lot. Extremely durable and resonate nicely with my G1 clear heads on bottom of my toms.
