This head is exactly as it is described. It is a great head for use with jazz with a great amount of overtones often desired with jazz. The head also responds to brushes better than any other I have played on. These things being said I actually purchased the head for purposes other than jazz. The very warm sound blends well with the psychadelic rock of bands like the Jimi Hendrix Experience and the Doors.
