These heads are great. I would NEVER use any other tom heads but Evans Hydraulic. The price is amazing compared to how great they sound. Definately BUY THESE if you want a killer sound for a good price.
I was a little hesitant about buying these heads. I have always bought Remo heads. I put them on and after a little tuning they are by far the best heads i have ever used. They sound amazing. Nice deep, warm sound. Very little overtone. Exactly what I was looking for. I am a Evans Hydraulic user for life!!!
I've played for thirty years and for a long time was a big Remo pinstripe fan. I got a used cheap set from a pawn shop as a fixer upper spare and saw these heads at a local store. They felt pretty heavy duty and looked good for the price so I baught them. These things blew me away. I put them on the cheap set and it sounded like a million bucks. The heads sound good either at high or low tunnings. I put these heads on and just finger tightened them and was surprised at how good they sounded. Real deep, in your face, rich tone, and very little ring. At high tunning they have a little more ring and sound really warm. The Hydralic glass heads I have on my Tamma imperial stars are over a year old and still sound great with no dents at all!! You would have to hit these things with a sledge hammer to put a dent in them. I use these heads on all three of my sets now and play different tunning for each of them and they all sound great. Buy them and you will be hooked.
